“Shopping”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

There is not much to do and poor quality product does not warrant a trip there.this place is shopped by locals and is not really intended for tourist seeking good products

“Most beautiful place in Mexico”
Reviewed 7 June 2013

. Avoid the actual city of manzanillo. It is the biggest port in Mexico and in fact on the entire Pacific coast after Los Angeles. So it is not a particularly pleasant city. However manzanillo bay is in fact a spectacular double bay. The bay that leads into the city is less desirable. However The next bay which the locals call Santiago bay is beautiful. Especially if you go to the northern end which is more secluded. If you stay anyplace up on the hills toward the northeast end the views are quite amazing. The mountains rise directly from, the beach is 5 miles, the water is warm and you are surrounded by palm trees, coconuts, citrus trees, Bougainvillea.
My family has traveled throughout the whole country of Mexico. We think this is the most beautiful setting in the country In fact one of the most beautiful settings anywhere in the world.

“A place to avoid”
Reviewed 30 March 2013

we spend 3 long month in Manzanillo and could not wait to leave . Manzanillo is a dusty unfriendly city with much anti American sentiments. The beach ? is wonderful to look at, except there are so many run down hotels built very close to the water front, that fall apart right in front of your eyes ..there is no way you can swim in the Bay it is terrible dangerous and not clean. There is a huge power plant spitting coal smoke into the air ,the traffic is terrible, the conditions on the road outrages not to mention the swarms of mosquito's from the near by swamps that make any outdoor activity impossible. Dengue fever is very dangerous and we both got a touch of it .Never again ..there are many many beautiful places in Mexico but Manzanillo is not one of them

“Deep Sea Fishing”
Reviewed 23 March 2013

While in Manzanillo, Mexico we went deep sea fishing on the "Macarela" based out of the port of Manzanillo. Captain Dayo and second mate, Juan made our experience a very enjoyable and memorable one. The boat is an older one but very well cared for and clean. We chartered the boat for $300 USD for a five hour trip for the four of us.

We had been out for about two hours before I got my 35 pound Dorado (Mahi Mahi) and waited another hour before our next one. After another hour the two men got their Dorados within minutes of each other and we lost one when the line tangled and broke. All four of us caught Dorados ranging in size from 25 pounds to 35 pounds! And we were provided with endless ice cold Coronitas!

When we returned to dock, our first mate filleted two of the fish right on the dock while we watched the young children hand fishing. We took the fillets from one of our fish back to the Los Delfines restaurant at Los Hadas Golf & Marine Resort where the chef prepared the most fantastic meal for us.

If you are going deep sea fishing we would highly recommend this experienced crew. The number to contact the "Macarela" is 01(314)33 259 61 and the cell phone number is: 044(314)87 246 35.

For first time deep sea fishers this was a fantastic experience.
