I've just returned from my second trip to Dolphin Cove Inn in Manzanillo, Mexico. I love this quaint resort. I invited friends along on this trip who were amazed at the gorgeous, festive and spacious accommodations. We had lots of room to spread-out and made good use of our kitchen. The restaurant, located under a large palapa, was a great meeting place for us at the beginning and ending of each day. The food was terrific and the wait staff greeted us, by name, every day. We had use of the internet and resort computer, and since my last trip they have added a toll-free phone to the states. The owners, Bill and Clare Brown, couldn't have been more gracious and welcoming to me and my party. DCI is like a place of undiscovered paradise.

We stayed at the Dolphin Cove Inn 4/17-4/24. This was our first trip to this area of Mexico and after reviewing the comments from this forum, we were looking forward to this new experience. Since this was my wife's birthday trip, we wanted something that was beautiful and memorable. The pictures from the various forum reviews capture the essense of the the property. The location is great, the staff excellent and the room and facilities perfect from our expectations. We want to thank Bill Brown for the sailboat ride, Cynthia for her help and Jose in the restaurant. We did setup with the inn our roundtrip ride from the airport for US $100 for two. No problems. We went to the Barcelo next to the inn and used their ATM for pesos. We did hire a car/driver for the day and went to Colima and Comala and other attractions. We used the bus service, which is outside the inn for 5 pesos, and went shopping and sightseeing. It takes two buses to get to the historic district. Get the pass from the office to get onto the Las Hadas property next door.

OK... so it's not a 4 or 5 star resort, but it is a great place to stay. My wife and I stayed for 8 days in February at the Dolphin Cove Inn and had a very romantic and relaxing excape from life. We have been to Mexico many times to many cities. Manzanillo is the most laid back of all of them. The resort is kept very clean with a nice pool and good food in the restaurant, we will be heading back there again soon. We are both 39 years old and were still some of the youngest people at the resort. The resorts balconies are draped in beautiful flowers and with a perfect location along the hillside of Santiago bay, it is an incredible deal to be able to stay for under one hundred dollars a night. We loved it and the staff were simply helpful as one could hope for in any resort.

If you need some time to decompress and relax then I can wholeheartedly recommend the Dolphin Cove Inn. My wife and I just spent four days and three nights there. Even though we live in Manzanillo full-time, we still needed a decompression weekend. Our stay here was just what the doctor ordered.

The accommodations are wonderful. We stayed in the honeymoon suite. The restaurant was one of the best we have eaten at in Manzanillo. The service and staff were fantastic.

There is something here for everyone with an active pool area and secluded areas where mostly what you hear are the gentle lapping sounds of the waves on the rocks below. Give this place a try and I don't think you will be disappointed!

What a great spot! We stayed for a week. The staff upgraded our room to a suite with beautiful views, very clean and fun space with large outside terrace. There were 150 (at least) steps from the room to the pool and about 20 or 30 more to the beach, so it really is not a place for those who have trouble walking. No handrails either, but the views are worth it and the exercise just means you can eat more. Between two large hotels - Karmina and Las Hadas - this is by far the best choice for those who want a more relaxing and quiet vacation. The staff was great, tried to help us with our fractured Spanish. It's easy to catch the local bus downtown or to Santaigo for the Saturday market. We loved every minute at Dolphin Cove!

We only stayed a few days at this beautiful place, but are thinking we really need to return! Our photos say it all: beautiful place, unparalleled view, but watch out if stairs might be an issue for you. Another note: the concierge and other staff in the lobby are outstanding in their courtesy and willingness to help. Absolutely work with them to find things to do, access to the beach, bus routes, etc. Otherwise you might stay in your room and just gaze out the terrace window. Television is not good here--we didn't have a remote control although we probably could have gotten one in the recepción, but the channels aren't all that varied or clear. Manzanillo is a wonderful place; we didn't scratch the surface of little day trips or restaurants. So look out, 2010! We'll be back!
