While on vacation in Manzanillo we went to this restaurant for dinner. We were a party of 6.

The place looks new and is clean and has a very nice decor. It is on the beach with great views. The name is Rock Food but the decor is like Buddha's and Indonesian Decorations so there is a disconnect between the name and ambiance..Maybe it's just me?

We ordered drinks and our meals. 5 of the 6 meals were delivered and the 6th was MIA. When we asked what the problem was with the 6th meal the answer was I don't know. We waited approximately 10 minutes for it to arrive with no explanation or apology given. Several of us waited for the missing meal to arrive before beginning to eat.

I ordered Sauteed Shrimp. My one word description was INCONSISTENT.

I received a nicely displayed presentation with 6-8 shrimp. They were of different sizes and in different states of preparation. most all had the head of the shrimp attached, some with shells and legs on. some with no shell but legs attached, some with no legs no shells and some that weren't even cleaned (which I did not eat). It was served with a like "fried rice" and a mango salsa for dipping which made the shrimp more edible. The "Fried Rice" is also available as a main course with option of shrimp or chicken and this was ordered by one of the party too. It didn't look anything special and was the same as the rice on my plate except for some shrimp tossed in. He wasn't impressed and I'm glad I didn't order it. Needs to be taken up 2 or 3 notches to be a decent main course.

My wife ordered the Huachinango Fish which came and was quite small. An OK size for her but for a hardy eater you'd be googling where Burger King is (BTW... its about a mile or 2 down the road on the left by the Soriana Department Store)

There was live music which made the atmosphere very nice.

It was a nice evening with average food and service. Would I go back? Probably not.

Best atmosphere for date night in town. Nice furniture and ambience. Clean and new. Right on the beach.

Food was average. The Caesar salad was very good as an appetizer. We shared mango shrimp and a steak. They were seasoned with a lot of parley or oregano? Steak was requested medium rare, but arrived cold inside. They had no problem putting it back on the grill for a few minutes. The shrimp was good.

This is a new restaurant overlooking the beach. The view is great. The decor is clean, new and attractive. The wait staff spoke English. The food was adequate. I ordered calamari with garlic and parsley. I received a cold calamari salad with alfalfa sprouts - no garlic. The Hawaiian crepe was very good.

The kitchen features a large barbeque to grill fish and beef. We had two different preparations of dorado and a huachinango. Both the dorado dishes were a little dry, but the whole huachinango was moist and well seasoned.

My concern about this restaurant and the reason I will not recommend it or go back to it - they do not have a drink menu. We ordered two bottles of white wine. They suggested Las Moras sauvignon blanc which we enjoyed. We did not ask the price. We were charged 400 pesos per bottle for a wine which costs 83 pesos in the store. I accept that restaurants double or triple the cost of wine - this restaurant marked it up five fold and by not having a drink menu we were unaware of the cost until the bill arrived. This feels like a policy to dupe tourists.
