We love this resort! It's an older style but it has that Hacienda homey feel to it...and the workers there welcome you and make you feel right at home! We got excellent service...We had the all inclusive, the food was great...we took the shuttle to Emerald Bay and enjoyed some time over there as well...eating and pool fun! Will definite be coming back again and again...cant wait for my next visit..

We love the Pubelo Bonito Mazatlan resort and have been staying for years as a Timeshare owner. The staff are wonderful and there are always workers cleaning and working to keep this older resort in as good as shape as possible and they provide many activities daily. We absolutely LOVE the location with so many restaurants within walking distance and you can take a bus to any location you might want to visit. We look forward to our visit again next year. KathyA

This was a poor choice we made to select this hotel. Unless you are looking to purchase a time share avoid Mazatlán. The sales people are every where and I mean everywhere. They are the taxi drivers, the waitress, the hotel staff, this constant harassment by so many people really distracts from city and the area. The hotel is old and run down and bad need of replacing basic items like clean pillows on the bed. There are so many other hotels to choose from and not sure how this hotel gets positive reviews. My recommendation is skip Mazatlán and visit Puerto Vallarta where the time share scams isn't an issue...maybe they sold them all?

Room Tip: some of the rooms have ocean views, we could see the ocean from the balcony if we strained.

I have stayed at other Pueblo Bonito properties, so I knew what to expect. This is a timeshare property and you will get asked if not once, but maybe several times, to go to their "breakfast" or "presentation". Once I tell them that I am a travel agent that squashes the issue, but with the general public it can get annoying. This is my first time at this property so here are a few things that stand out for me:
1. This resort is the original resort that started Pueblo Bonito. So, it is over 20 years old. There are a few things that need to be updated (bed linens and comforters, bathroom wood paneling), but overall the rooms are nice and grounds are kept clean
2. This resort is a great place to not purchase the all-inclusive plan. There are so many restaurants within walking distance or a short drive into town that just getting a few things from the local market or on-resort deli for breakfast and lunch and then going out to dinner would be a good value.
3. There are only 2 restaurants on-property so food options are slim. You can go to Emerald Bay for meals as well. Emerald Bay also has Kelly's Bar, and if you go, Alejandro and Fernando will take great care of you!
4. This resort has a nice beach on the Sea of Cortes. This is a public beach so it can get busy. Also, there are a lot of vendors that come to the beach to sell to tourists. Antonio, one of the beach butlers, was so nice to us!
Overall, this is a nice resort that could use some updates, but is a good value if you are looking for a resort close to the city.

I have been staying at Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan since 1999. The staff is here for you and gives very good service. I love the Mexican decor and atmosphere. That is why I come to Mazatlan. I have made many friends down here. The staff remembers you when you come each year. Come on down and try this hotel. You won't regret it!! I will be back again next year...

I have stayed here dozens of times, and my ONLY complaint is I had to leave..I have stayed in almost all the decent places in Mazatlan, and I personally can say that this hotel is the Best..Not the newest or fanciest, but over-all the very best..ALL the people here really care for you and the front desk is absolutely outstanding..The front desk manager, Patty, is beyond nice and polite, and her staff is well schooled in customer service..The general manager David Tussi, is top notch and there to serve you. His office is always open to the guests, and he truly cares about you.

Room Tip: all the rooms in the south area are great. 1010 1009-1008-1005 ...My personal preference is room 10...
