“Our wonderful hosts!”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

My daughters and I planned a trip to Mazatlan this spring. We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay but took the first bus to Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan when we could. The staff there are so friendly and helpful. Samuel Reyes was our activity specialist. He certainly went above and beyond to help us do all we wanted to do and to make this a very memorable trip. It was beautiful both resorts but Mazatlan was our favorite, the food was great both places and the views were spectacular. I would highly recommend these resorts to anyone, whether seasoned traveler or first timer.

Great resort location in Mazatlan. The resort staff are the best that you can find, facility is getting older and is in need of modernization. The current timeshare are expiring in 2017 and it is not yet know what the resort plans are after that year.

This hotel is older and dated but the service is still Pueblo Bonito level. Beds are comfortable and on the firm side. So I take it you are reading these because you can't decide where to stay? Do you want to go to Mazatlan to relax, enjoy some peace & quiet, hang by the pool all day and not really leave the resort? If so - book Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay. If you want to come to Mazatlan to be able to play & swim on the beach, be close to downtown, seawall, marina, dancing, activities & shopping by foot and short taxi rides then stay here at Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan. The service and food quality is the same at both locations. They take great pride in taking care of their guests. Also, one more tip - if you are in need of Wi-Fi, it's not very good here unless you are at the pool and willing to pay $14 per day. You can pay $14 a day to have it in your room but it's not really "in your room". You have to be on your balcony outside, sitting at the right angle, standing on one leg and keep logging in every time it loses signal. Just an FYI for those that are Wi-Fi dependent. This hotel has a lot of concrete (concrete couches, concrete bed frames, etc.) so I assume that is why you can hardly get a signal. This was important to us so we ended up moving to Emerald Bay. You can take the time share tour and they will give you your Wi-Fi free. Also throw in a good deal for all-inclusive if you didn't already purchase before arriving. For those that hate time share tours - this one isn't too bad. They really do keep it at 90 minutes. If you are a non-drinker like me, these drinks are good by the pool: virgin Miami Vice, Conga, & Chocolate Smoothies.

Room Tip: They all have an ocean view and a balcony. Ask for one on the east side if you like the sunset view...

We celebrated our anniversary in February and wanted to visit the Pueblo Bonito Rose in Cabo but they were filled. We didn't want to come to Mazatlan, but wanted to go on a certain date, so we decided to go. What a surprise. It was a quick flight from Mexico City. The resort was on a peaceful cove in the Sea of Cortez. We didn't want all inclusive because we like to sample local restaurants. We took a local bus down to the historic center every day, visited the food market and ate at a variety of restaurants. Shrimp was the specialty and was so fresh and delicious

Room Tip: The free wi fi was located in both of the deli/markets.

We started of our family road trip, being 18 people, 9 children, and got to Mazatlan extremely tired and hungry. When we got there, we had to find out they over booked and did not have our rooms. We had booked the luxury suites, and were offered normal rooms in exchange, which meant, we could only fit 15 people. That was all they could offer us for that night. They said they could switch us to the Luxury suites after the first night, but apparently, the rooms were not so much suite as they had offered us, and we could fit only 16 people. Long story short: We argued for about 2 hours, during which time it seemed like all the employees had gossiped about our huge problem and all had to go to the reception desk, look at us, laugh and gossip in front of us (Them thinking we didn't speak spanish, which we do). They offered us a free meal, which was ridiculous because we had an all inclusive package. Finally we stroke a deal and were given a little of the money back (Not nearly enough for it to be worth while). Went into our rooms, two people had to sleep on the floor. At first it all seemed fine, until we found a cockroach in our room.
Over all the food was great, the service was slow, but okay (Referring to drinks and food). I would for sure never stay here again. Mazatlan is a beautiful place with many way better hotels.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not too far from the beach, otherwise it entitles a lot of walking.

Great access to beach and excellent service! Wonderful activities for the family!
Food is good also and caters to children and has a wide variety if choices. Rooms are equipped with all essentials. Cleaning service daily. Close to shops and and nightlife. Wonderful nightly dinners and theme night is superb! You can be an owner as well and make your stay a yearly vacation with the family!
