“A great beach and some interesting restaurants.”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

A nice beach with good surf. Watch surfers from the Mr Lionso Restaurant or take a swim yourself from the clean beach with its warm water.

“Great restaurant”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

It is now a tradition that we go to Playa Brujas on our last night in Maz. The garlic shrimp are to die for, and the Cadillac Margaritas can not be beat. The waiters are friendly and efficient.

“Went Twice”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

Loved that this restaurant was a short walk down the beach from RIU, plus it's was only a 50 peso cab ride at night. The food here is fresh and rich-- free bread and chips upon ordering. The drinks are 2-for-1 after 5pm, so enjoy a couple Coronas. The top dishes are the Coconut Shrimp and Tequila Shrimp, I had both and both were great. Avoid eating big here and walking home in the heat though, I got sick the second time around. A night here for 2 people will cost you about $300 pesos.

“A nice beach and decent restaurant”
Reviewed 15 November 2013

If you're staying somewhere without a beach or are just looking for some different scenery, this a good place to visit. You can hop in a pulmonia from the Golden Zone for around 80-100 pesos, or take the Cerritos bus to the turnaround at the end and it's a two or three minute walk to the beach on the left and restaurant. A good place for seafood though it has been hit or miss for us with the lobster lately. Not a lot of vegetarian options on the menu, but live music and good service prevail. Beach is great for surfing and is usually uncrowded. The only bathrooms are at the restaurant and have an attendant, and they usually guilt me into tipping a couple coins to paper towel off my hands or holding it until I get home. Pulmonias usually are waiting outside the restaurant to take visitors back their hotels.
