I would not recommend Costa Bonita to anyone!!! We were harrassed daily during our one month stay from a security guard and a couple of the owners. This place is not kid friendly and the owners have way too many rules. my children could not even laugh and splash in the pool. pretty bad!!! it is a place for old retired folks to spend. We felt like we were in a retirement home of crabby old people. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN!!!! I have to say though the food was great at the beach restaurant and the service was great there. And our CONDO was great!! the views are great and the location is ideal but just not family friendly. Hope this review helps.

I traveled to Costa Bonita the last week in October with four friends and family members. Al and Amy's condo was perfect for our stay. The kitchen and baths were well stocked for all our needs. There is a patio overlooking the pool and hot tub, and you can watch the sunset from there. The furnishings in the condo were beautiful and comfortable.

The staff at Costa Bonita were very friendly and helpful. Lounge chairs were set up for us as soon as we walked onto the beach. The weather and the beach were PERFECT all week. The little gift shop was extremely well stocked, including groceries. The complex as a whole is well maintained.

There is ample transportation in the area for getting to the downtown attractions and restaurants. All in all, we had a wonderful vacation at this resort.

Spent the last week of October in Al and Amy's unit at Costa Bonita in Mazatlan. We had a wonderful time! The unit is attractive, comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. The unit is on the first floor with a great side porch overlooking the pool area - a great place for watching the sun set after a day on the beach.

The complex as a whole is also terrific. Beautiful lobby and common areas, gorgeous pool area, and the beach in front of the complex is a little slice of heaven. Plus, the staff members are great, couldn't have been more helpful.

I highly recommend this vacation, and Al and Amy's condo in particular!

Al and Amy have a nice condo on a quiet, residential end of the island. The pool and jacuzzi area are luscious and relaxing and the beautiful beach is steps from that. The surprisingly well-stocked and reasonably priced little store made life so convenient. The huge staff that keeps the place well maintained was so helpful and extremely friendly, as were the condo residents and regulars (mostly Americans and Canadians).

We loved lying on the beach in a lounge chair under a thatched umbrella until sunset. Walk the beach to Playa Bruja to see the surfers and climb the rocks, and don't miss Los Cerritos, a cute little open-air restaurant just down the beach with a yummy BLT.

The kitchen is big and well-stocked, but forget cooking and go into town for a fun dinner. Ask the staff or condo residents for suggestions, but I thought the red snapper at Los Arcos was to die for and the beef dinners at Pepe y Lola's in the Plazuella Machado were delicious. Transportation into town is easy and cheap. Just stand at the condo entrance and wave down a red truck (auriga) or a white golf cart (pulmonia).

Wow what a great trip. We have never wanted to travel to Mazatlan and wow, we realize what we have been missing. Great resort for your family. Please note that this is not the place to stay if you want to be close to the 'action' or have teenage kids. Teenagers will most likely be bored.

If you want to have a quite beach, great service and a pool to yourselves...well this is the place to go! It was also a pleasure to spend some of our vacation with Mexicans. A first since we usually travel in the winter. Not this time as Mazatlan was clearly cheaper than vacationing in Canada.

We rented a 2 bd, 2 bath condo and has a very relaxing, very enjoyable time. The staff is great, people were great and the accomodations were well cared for and provided everything that we could ask for.

Hands down, we recommend this resort, the waterslides, aquarium, old town. We prefer this resort to PV, Acapulco, and Cancun. Playa de Carmen and Cozmel however still hold a piece of our heart but wow...if you want to go for a cheap holiday...Mazatlan rocks! Even in the summer!!!
