“Secluded beach”
Reviewed 23 March 2013

I went with my 3 x 30 somethings 1 infant, 1 x 60 something

Positives:
Boat ride was cool, it took you to the local islands to see them, it was about and hour or hour and a half. The beach was secluded, no vendors harassing you, and it was quiet. All you can eat and drink included on the tour and the tour guides we had (Aries Fleet) were nice and helpful

Negatives:
The beach had a lot of shells and actually wasn't as clear as the beach by our resort. All you can eat and drink is great but we had that at our resort anyways. Snorkeling wasn't very clear as the water was murky, didn't really see any fish.

I'd recommend this tour if you're not already staying at a resort and maybe just staying in town or a condo somewhere in which you're not at the beach/pool all day and don't have all included food/drinks. If you're already staying at a resort where you're getting all this, I'd say you could probably save the $50.

“Peaceful”
Reviewed 14 March 2013

No vendors, great food, good drinks, good guides and very private. Our catamaran was nice and our activities superb! It is nice to see Mazatlan from a small island where no one lives and there is absolutely no debris. Scoobie and Estrella (four legged friends) live in the island and they are super friendly. FYI- book with a resort representative and/or a travel agency for the best experience!!!

view of the city from the catamaran ride was great, as was the calm water for swimming but the day we were there the only washroom was locked.

“Fun afternoon”
Reviewed 6 March 2013

We took a tour that was arranged by our condo director. This tour included transportation, all you could drink, lunch, snorkeling, ocean kayaking, banana boats, and just plain relaxing. The boat did make a tour around the local islands with the guide giving insight about each island.

“Great Escape from the Tourist Area”
Reviewed 14 February 2013

We hired one of the parasailing boats from in front of our hotel to take us over 100 pesos return. They dropped us off and we arranged to be picked up a couple of hours later. The beach is nice a clean and the water is very calm and warm. We brought our own beer and snacks over but there are a couple of vendors on the island as well if you would like to purchase things from them. I did buy a Coco Loco (coco nut with rum!) on one trip over.
If you are feeling very adventurous there is a hike up to the top of the mountain on the south end of the beach. We did this on our 2nd trip over this year, about 1/2 hour up and down with a great view. There are a few steep spots and some pokey bushes/cactuses but other than that a good walk!
