“Awesome!!”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

Just wanted to thank all the staff at the Inn at Mazatlan for their courtesy and superb service! My husband I were there for two weeks, and every day was perfect!! A special thank you to Luis for the many "happy hour" drinks he delivered to our group at their usual place on the wall! He always came with a smile, no matter how busy he was!! He gave me the title of "Princess", and I have decided to keep it all year long!! ha ha, thank you Luis for making me feel like a Princess!! Already looking forward to next year!! Also thank you Martha for helping my husband get me the 1 1/2 dozen beautiful roses for Valentines Day!!

We stayed in the older part of the hotel, and it was nice enough. No problems with plumbing or electricity at all. There was no elevator access without stairs involved, however, which was unexpected. All in all, it was a pleasant stay in the hotel as the room was clean, the food was good and the booze was cheap. That, plus the gorgeous view made the experience worthwhile.

We also had the good fortune to run into a man named Elias who took us on a pulmonaria to the old part of the city for only US$40. He was quite friendly and informative and took us wherever we wanted to go. Recommended!

On a bizarre note, the spa was directly one floor below us and it always smelled of curry. Not exactly off-putting, but not exactly expected, either.

Dear Tim S

Apparently your stay at the Inn was overall a pleasant one, which make us very happy to hear it; we are confident that this will become your favorite hotel destination in Mazatlan based on the booming of our beautiful city and the warmth of our friendly staff; we never had any similar comment about our Spa which we will verify & take immediate action if needed, so thank you for pointing that out. We appreciate your preference and we look forward to welcome you again in the near future.

The hotel, staff and location is wonderful! This time we took my mother along and she has a hard time getting around, I was able to order a wheelchair so that we didnt have to always deal with her walker. Everyone was super helpful, they even called ahead and had a wheelchair waiting at the airport when we pulled in going home. Great service and very helpful and friendly. The hotel was easy for my mom to get around in with either the wheelchair or walker, the view can not be beat. We will be back

Room Tip: Any room 4th floor or above for the best view.

Let me begin by saying this is a nice hotel and the location is great, but a junior studio is just a small hotel room. I would say a step above a Motel 6. We did ask is we could pay for a room up grade and we were basically ignored and by the number of people around I can't imagine that they were at capacity. The room was very small with a small dresser. Two of the three drawers were difficult to open and even harder to close. The closet was more of a wardrobe, and the bathroom was extremely small a narrow and the lighting was almost non existent. There was no safe, hair dryer, or iron and only two very thin towels. We picked the wrong type of room, but we were only going to be there three nights before moving on to the place we always stay for at least three weeks. People have said the service at the restaurant and around the pool was great, but not compared to what we are use to. Having to someone down order food and then not getting it for 30 or 40 minutes is not we call good service, much less great service. Even so we looked at a one bedroom unit just incase we are not able to get into the resort that we really like. The one bedroom is small but very nice and had two bathrooms. Oddly it has two double beds, not great for couples who actually sleep together. But the deal breaker for us is that the bedroom is next to the street and very noises. So this would not be a good fit for us. Yes, the Inn is on the beach, but there are no chairs or umbrellas. Sad:(.

Dear J-W

According to the room description provided on your comments it seems like you had a studio, and that is our most basic unit in the property that explains the size of it, however I find it hard to believe that no upgrade was provided to you per request unless there wasn´t availability at that moment; the amenities such as an iron, air dryer, safe box are always provided at the front desk if you require them. There are several type of units in our Hotel to choose from. I just wonder if you ever pointed out the difficulties you went through during your stay to any Manager , Housekeeping or the Concierge in order to take immediate action and avoid this non so pleasant experience; the service at the pool is normally faster than what you mention but I will reinforce that area with the food and beverage staff. I would really like to have the opportunity have you back with us in some other time in order to take personal attention of your stay and show you what the Inn really stands for.

Best regards

Looking for the ideal place to vacation, spending hours enjoying the sun & surf...this is IT.

From the early morning sunrise to sunset, you don't have to leave the property. Shopping for items from the vendors is easy and fun. Want something different, they'll bring it. Papagayo restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinners. Service has improved for those ordering food & drinks on the pool deck. EDWIN is a fairly new waiter and really hustles...Mister Rapido. Speaks good English, fun personality and eager to please the guests. Very well liked.

Enjoy your stay.

Always a relaxing vacation. Rafael makes you at home. Great to carry on a conversation with him. Pool and area well kept as usual. Fantastic views and plenty of sunshine.
See you again next year

Room Tip: We like Inca Tower best, great views, no street traffic noise.
