“Awesome vacation at Inn at Mazatlan”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

My family of five just returned after spending a week at the Inn at Mazatlan. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Mexico and took advantage of every opportunity to get out into the city. Our "home base" was the Inn ,and while the facilities were first rate, the staff was what made our stay so wonderful. Our concierge was Dago and he became our go to guy for everything we needed and answered the many questions we had as first time visitors to the city. We spent most of the time around the water and felt safe and secure under the attentive eye of Francisco - our lifeguard and amigo! The two bellmen who totally took us under their wings were Manuel and Rafael. One night as we were headed out to eat, Andrea changed our plans and sent us to the amazing Casa Loma (and got us free drinks). When we left to return back to Minnesota, my family all said that it was as though we were saying goodbye to our friends. So, HASTA LUEGO AMIGOS - Dago, Francisco, Manuel, Rafael y Andrea .

My husband and I just spent a week at the Inn with our 3 adult children. We were all very impressed with the cleanliness, beauty and comfort of our luxury suite. We spent part of each day at the pools which were always well maintained. Quick access to the beach was another big plus as we were able to lay on the pool deck and watch the action or step out onto the sand to walk, run or play in the surf. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch at Papagayos as well as their excellent poolside service throughout the week. What we all agreed was the most impressive about our stay however, was the friendliness and helpfulness of the STAFF! Manuel and Rafael greeted us daily at the main doors and were always ready to lend a hand or word of advice or whatever we needed. Dago, the concierge, was a wealth of information on what to see and do and helped us set up our transportation among other things. At the pool Francisco, the lifeguard, was a friendly face and helpful advisor each day as well. By the end of the week we realized that we weren't just saying goodbye to the staff, but to our newfound friends!

Indeed, those service points that you kindly shared in your letter are the things that make the difference in making a visit a memorable one for you and your loved ones. My wife and I just got back and had an amazing time at the Inn. The hotel and rooms were great. The staff was even better. People on staff such as Dago, Rafael and Manuel felt more like great friends or family members by the time we left. If you need anything or have any issues, talk to one of these three and they will take care of everything and go above and beyond what you would find at even the best of American hotels.
Another great feature was the restaurant, Papagayos. The food and drink were great. The wait staff was awesome. The same staff will service the pool area and they do an amazing job. I don't ever remember running low on drinks while out at the pool.
Also, let Dago take care of the days trips you may want to go on. He will do a much better job for you than if booked before over the internet. He is very fair and makes no preference when doing this. He truly has you as his main priority.
At the end, I can't thank those at the Inn at Mazatlan enough for making my trip a great vacation for my wife and I. Thanks.

Room Tip: Go with a Junor suite. It is well worth the few extra dollars you will pay.

We were lucky enough to stay in a gorgeous 2 bedroom on the 15th floor of the newer tower. The room was spacious and lovely, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked well enough for those of us who mostly eat out but like to have the odd snack, cocktail or breakfast in the room. Having 3 full bathrooms was decadent for 4 people but super convenient. The balcony was huge and had the most amazing view - the furniture out there was plain white resin, 4 chairs and a table - could have been more and more comfortable. The lovely lady who cleaned our room each day was so sweet (and helpful when we locked ourselves out) - room was spotless everyday, fresh flowers, towel animals....great! The meals we ate in the onsite restaurant were very good, no complaints, but there are so many fabulous places to eat in Mazatlan that we ventured out most days. Drinks by the pool/beach were good, fast and fairly reasonable - waiters were lots of fun and very attentive. We definitely plan to return to Mazatlan (this was our first trip) and The Inn is where we will stay!

Room Tip: We traded with RCI into a 2 bedroom.....excellent room!

If you have a chance to stay in the Golden Zone make your stop at the "Inn at Mazatlan". Dago the Concierge one of the best, accommodating our group of 14 for dinner every evening. I can't thank him enough from making it easy on all of us. The staff makes you feel at home, and the view is amazing from one of the upper floors. The units are spacious and clean making your stay enjoyable. I would highly reccommend staying at the INN on your next trip to Mazatlan

It is a nice hotel, just by the beach with many beach beds available. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a nice balcony. The pool area is relaxing and there is also a restaurant next to the pool. The prices in the restaurant are a bit higher compared to average Mazatlan prices but they were still okay and they had good options. We ate there twice, the first time was much better as the food was fresher and they had more side dishes. Regarding the drinks, they have happy hour with different offers everyday. It is possible to relax by the beach and have a margarita, as there are many waiters around.

Something we were definitely not happy was the internet. It is 9$ per day per user and not even possible to get during the check-in; we had to go to the business centre. But the worst part was that after paying for the internet 50% of the time we couldn`t connect to the wireless. Also during the check-in one of the receptionists was a bit rude with us, but I don`t want to generalize this as all the rest of the staff was quite friendly and helpful.

Overall I think it is a good value for money and it is a good option to stay in Mazatlan.

Room Tip: The rooms on higher floors would have much better view of ocean.

Dear Ms. Elmas

We appreciate the time taken to post a wide review of our facilities & different services. Moreover we thank you for your compliments regarding our food and service in general. With regard to your wi-fi signal, I am most apologetic as we have switched to an outside service due to the opportunities in the reception of it. Mexican construction is very different from that of the US and Canada as our walls and divisions within the Hotel are made of concrete blocks which are not helpful in transmitting the wireless signal. Nevertheless, the company that services us bears the responsability to ensure good reception and they are available 24/7 to ensure that they make right on their promise of adjusting the charges on your account. Secondly, we will be sitting down with our receptionists to further sensitize and council them with regard to the warmth and professionalism that is expected of them.
Again, thank you for your remarks as they will ultimately make us a better Resort. Please do not hesitate to call my office upon your next desire to visit Mazatlan and “su casa”, The Inn at Mazatlan,

Cordially yours,
