Just got back last week from a great stay at the Posada de Roger. Make sure you have some pesos with you when you arrive because you will need to put down a cash deposit for the room key, remote control, & if you want to get a safety deposit box. They take American $$, but when you get refunded you will be refunded in pesos. There are no safes in the room. They will hold lap tops etc behind the front desk for you at no charge, but they close at 11PM so if you get back late you will not be able to get your stuff. I put our passports in the safety deposit box. It was $320.00 pesos for all three. We were a tad disappointed when we first arrived because our first room 107 in the courtyard was SO tiny. With our suitcases there was no room to walk & the bed was pressed up against the closet, but when I went up to the desk they were great & moved us to room 216 which was perfect. Roomy with a little balcony right by the pool. The staff was great. It was very clean with lots of lovely plants all over. We ate at Freddy's Tucan twice for breakfast because it was so convenient, but it was just ok. We found better breakfast down the road. The location is just wonderful, close to many restaurants, the beach, & just a short walk to the main drag in PV. I would not hesitate to stay here again. In fact, I wish I was back there right now!!

We stayed here for a night recently while we were traveling around the Puerto Vallarta area. The room was clean, free wifi, amazing location! We had a little balcony overlooking Basilio Badillo so I was a little concerned it might be noisy. Once the doors were closed, it was surprisingly quiet and we really enjoyed sitting out there with a 6 pack of Modelo people watching. We were headed on the water taxi to Yelapa the next day for a couple of nights and they were nice enough to let us leave our BIG suitcase with them for 2 nights without charging anything! I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others. Thanks for the great experience.

Stayed here for two weeks and loved every day of it. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. The property is very well maintained. When I stopped by the desk on my fourth day there to let them know that my bedside lamp wasn't working, it was fixed before I returned from the beach. The room (206) was equipped with a ceiling fan with multiple settings and an air conditioning unit above the door controlled by a breaker switch. Met several nice folks who were staying there from Mexico, the US, and from Canada and had great conversations while sitting by the pool and in the courtyard. On my first morning I woke up at 4 (much earleir than intended) and decided to take a walk down the Malecon. The staff member assigned to the gate allowed me out and back in when I returned at 5:30 and I was able to resume my slumber. I am definitely staying here again!

We stayed here our last three nights in PV, after a month in upscale resorts. This was a delightful change. The price was super and it included free WiFi, which we had not experienced in any of the resorts. Our room was very clean with a brand new pillow-top mattress. Rooms are small (10x10') plus a 2x3' closet and 8x3' bathroom. Two towels, soap and shampoo are provided. We always bring our own face clothes and lotion to Mexico as we have found the old town Mexican hotels generally do not include these. Our chest of drawers was missing a drawer but their was also a waist-high built-in cabinet for storage which served as a handy counter top. Their was also a couch and TV. The furnishings were old (except the mattress) but clean and usable. No ice but we purchased it at Freddy Toucans, one of our fav restaurants, attached to the hotel. We did not use the pool but noticed people there each day. We prefer the beach. AC and a ceiling fan kept us comfortable (fan, alone, was fine during the night). The community kitchen is well stocked with kitchen ware & was a great convenience to have (no microwave). Plants and flowers and lots of outdoor and courtyard garden/deck areas to enjoy in the heart of downtown - so convenient to everything. We will be back.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor in room 305 which is on the back side so there was very little, if any street noise.
