An old hotel but very well kept up, as stated it is just off the Malecon. Staff friendly and helpful.
For an ocean view I would recommend the third or fourth floor. This hotel does have elevators for those who need it .

Room Tip: Try to get ocean view

The Hotel Rosita was a pleasant surprise , although the internet booking is not good an email soon had everything reserved .
The hotel is extremely well located and this is its strongest point . Service is good and the rooms are acceptable considering the price. They have full service restaurant and bar but do close at 10pm . Not a problem as the hotel is right on the busiest part pf the sea front and there is a multitude of restaurants for all tastes as well as bars.
There is free wifi but the connection is frustrating as you need to put in a password EVERY time you try to use it . I will return as it is a good option in this atractive coastal town .

Room Tip: Go for the sea view but not the northern corner as there is a nearby nightclub that goes on till the...

We stayed for two nights before checking into our resort in Nuevo Vallarta. It's location can't be beat, right at the start of the malecon. The rooms are basic, but very clean. We were on the 4th floor with a nice private balcony with a great ocean view. Our friends were on the 2nd floor, same view, but less than private balcony. Good for a couple of nights.

We were here a few years ago and also in February for a week and again in March for two weeks and this is without question a great hotel that us close to everything and has a fabulous view and pool and the best Buffet from Friday to Sunday...You can eat on the floors as they are washed many times daily..Overall I would not go anywhere else unless I was renting a condo long term....
Rooms are average but adequate and clean !

Room Tip: Ocean view with balcony!

I have stayed at several hotels in Puerto Vallarta, including some of the fancy ones in the Hotel Zone. The Rosita will always be at the top of my list for a charming place to stay. It's location at the north end of the Malecon is ideal. I always take the ocean view room and let the waves lull me to sleep. Because of the openness of these rooms, air conditioning is rarely ever needed, just open both doors and let the breeze refresh you. Have lunch by the pool, the food is great and the service is superb. A special thanks to Luis who really looked after us and exceeded our needs. The entire staff, in the lobby or the kitchen is always very helpful. Get out to this neighborhood, it is charming and you are surrounded by the best restaurants in Vallarta. Gracias Hotel Rosita, I will return soon.

Room Tip: Spend a few pesos more and get the ocean view room, lovely.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Rosita for 4 days in March when we visited Puerto Villarta. It was right next to the beginning of Malecon. There are always many taxis waiting outside the hotel. we really liked the location because we could walk to Malecon easily and go to the night clubs there at night an not worry about how to find a ride back. There are so many good restaurants and souvenir stores near the hotel. We took a taxi to Bucerias for a day trip, about 230 pesos to get there. Not bad. and we had some good breakfast at a Mexican restaurant nearby (don't remember the name). The hotel provided free breakfast, but it was very simple, scrambled eggs, beans, and coffee. Since we wanted to try some good food here, so we went out for breakfast for the last 3 days. Our room was 305. The view at the balcony was stunning. We saw the most beautiful sunset every day from the balcony and we could see Malecon from our room. The room has two queen size beds. Simple but comfortable. However, the AC is very noisy. At night, we could hear karaok from the restaurant downstairs, plus the chatting and door banging from the neighbors, we had a hard time falling asleep.

We will probably find another hotel if we come back next time.
