We have just spent 9 days at the Casa Amorita and it's absolutely marvellous. The location is ideal, especially if you don't have a car, because it's within walking distance of everything in the old part of Puerto Vallarta. The common areas, dining room and sitting room are lovely, but the pool is especially cool! We spent 3 nights in a front bedroom, with a magnificent view, overlooking the cathedral, the city and the bay. The other 6 nights we had the back room, which has a lovely patio and a king size bed. If you want quiet, I suggest you choose the back room, but realize that you are in Mexico, a vibrant country full of lovely people, beautiful colours and much noise. The cathedral is half a block away and the bells are rung regularly and loudly, but after a couple of nights, we stopped hearing them. The cooked breakfast each morning was an experience of culinary delight, only to be outdone by the home made granola, which is sublime. My last comment is to do with Rita and her wonderful staff, Haroldo, Lisette, her sister and Danielle. My thanks to you all for making our visit so great and memorable and a return visit is definitely on the cards.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, choose the back room.

I spent five nights at Casa Amorita over New Years, and cannot recommend it highly enough! Rita, owner and host, is attentive and discreet – very hard to achieve – and her staff is first rate. By the end of the first day I knew everyone by name, and felt like family. My room was romantic, immaculate, and overlooked the town and the church (wondrous bells, occasionally playing a full “Ave Maria”). Breakfasts were the best and most varied of any place I’ve stayed: “Huevos Divociatos” (new to me) one day, French toast the next, Eggs Benedict the following , and, in deference to other guests, a vegetarian fruit feast on yet another. Rita’s recommendations are right on (I knew Puerto Vallarta from two earlier trips), and Puerto Vallarta is a safe, relaxed, pleasurable town. Casa Amorita is in the center, which makes it easy to get anywhere. Free Wi-Fi, free phone to the States, beautiful and spotless common and guest rooms, romantic ambiance & views, great breakfasts, attentive host and staff, towels for the pool & towels for the beach -- in brief, if you love B&Bs, this is close to ideal!

Room Tip: I loved my 2nd floor room overlooking the town, the church and the bay. The other rooms were charmi...

we spent a week at casa amorita recently (january 2013), having chosen this b&b for its proximity to davanna yoga studio and to old town pv and for its excellent rating on trip advisor. we were not disappointed. as many have noted, accomodations were lovely and well-appointed. Rita ensured that we had everything we needed at our fingertips. her staff were friendly and helpful, with Geraldo offering us whatever we might need to make our beach visits comfortable (i.e. a cooler or umbrella). we had--bar-none--the BEST massage ever from Alma. (my neck hasn't felt this loose in years.) Maya and the budgie brigade are charming ambassadors. in terms of proximity to what we were looking for, casa amorita is two blocks from davanna yoga studio (ensuring balance between poses in the a.m. and beach, beers, and shrimp in the p.m.). but let's talk breakfast: we are novice "foodies," and Rita and her girls did not disappoint. not only were these breakfasts gastronomical gifts, but they were also works of art, presentation thanks to her darling helpers. and finally, hearty thanks go to Rita and her girls for holding our breakfasts each morning so that we could practice yoga. as stated earlier, Rita's b&b is 100% accomodating. thanks, Rita. we will be back.

Room Tip: excellent location: far enough away from the malecon (3-4 blocks?), yet close enough to the malecon...

My partner and I stayed at Casa Amorita for three nights in mid January; we really enjoyed it. The home is lovely and comfortable. Rita was very informative and welcoming. The staff took great care of us. The breakfasts were truly delicious, each very different from one another, beautifully presented and excellent quality!! We stayed in the room on the ground floor and you could hear people talking in the kitchen in the morning. If you want to sleep in, ask for one of the other rooms. Rita kindly provides earplugs, which helps as the nearby cathedral rings its bells several times an hour--even throughout the night. There is a lovely rooftop deck, the perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day, enjoy the view and watch the sunset.

My partner and I spent four nights at Casa Amorita in mid December and we really enjoyed our stay. Rita and her staff of lovely young people took such good care of us. I reckon our breakfasts there were the best meals we had a Mexico and we did enjoy many meals out.
Rita was generous with her time, helping us with suggestions and reservations.
Casa Amorita is a lovely B&B and we'd love to return again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the room at the back of the casa and it was the quietest room a little further away fro...

Casa Amorita was the perfect place to be for us, a couple who had never before been out of the country. Rita was a great host - she explained the basic workings of the hotel as soon as we got there, as well as recommending some good restaurants (and taking note of the fact that I was vegetarian, which was very helpful). Our room was fairly small, but considering that we spent most of our time out exploring it was perfect. Very pretty, well decorated, and very airy and open with a nice balcony.

I don't think we could have stayed in a better location - there were at least five delicious restaurants within about a minute walking distance, and many more within less than fifteen. The Malecon was about a five minute walk. The only complaint I could have about the location is the church - it's a beautiful addition to the horizon, but the bells ring at least every half hour. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to take Rita up on the earplugs she offers.

Breakfast was served every morning at 9:30, which was the only requirement of staying at Casa Amorita. I'm glad it was though - everything was delicious! Rita and the staff served a mixture of traditional Mexican dishes and some of a more American variety, but everything was very artfully prepared and tasted great.

As far as trips go, you can have Rita book them or do it yourself, depending on the complexity. We booked our own with a company that Rita doesn't often work with, and everything turned out fine, but you may want to leave some of the bookings - especially if you don't speak Spanish - to Rita and her staff. Worked out great as long as we let her know a few days in advance!

Overall, highly recommended, and I hope we can come back! Thanks for everything Rita!

Room Tip: All the rooms are unique - I believe the room on the main floor is bigger, as the one family that wa...

We have traveled to Mexico at least 5-6 times; Cancun, Cabo, Manzanillo, Matzatlan, etc. and PV is THE best ever!! In our opinion it ranks highest in scenery, sights, weather, shopping, dining, etc. and the Casa Amorita is one of the best places we've experienced. Each AM we dined like royalty with new friends from all over the USA. Our wonderful hostess was Rita Love a very classy woman who knew everything there was to do and the best restaurants to visit in PV. She designed a magnificent home in the heart of the city, which would rival Frank Lloyd Wright and made sure we felt at home. We spent one PM on top of the rooftop terrace taking in the view of the city and bay. Wow!! One last thing,if you stay here be sure to take in a massage. Aaahhh

Room Tip: Each of the rooms are uniquely designed. I'm sure any would please. If you had a preference...
