Reviewed 1 August 2014

This is the first time I write a review since I never had an experience that gave an urge to warn fellow travellers of a hotel. I am really easy to please but this experience is just AWFUL.
(I am still here until sunday August 3, 2014)

1. The "beach" is awful just rocks and horse poop everywhere.
2. Loud techno/dub-step music in the pool area - impossible to relax
3. The cleaning lady would show up until passed 5:00PM or 6:00PM to clean our room.
4. We waited for more than 1.5hrs to get our food served at the "fine dine" restaurant
5. We couldn't have any "fine dine" dinner because my sister's newborn wasn't allowed at the restaurants
6. Food is unimpressive PLEASE DO NOT TRY THE CHICKEN NUGGETS YOU WILL GET SICK
7. There's only one or two waitresses at the bar the waiting time for a single cocktail is 20 to 20 minutes
8. WIFI is unreliable but free so I guess I can't complain about that.

There is some great people working there but I believe they have really poor hospitality management. I don't think any of my family members or myself would visit this resort again.

Room Tip: if you want any view of the ocean you need to be above the 20th floor… anything else is just walls and bushes

Great acomodations and facilities to relax, beautiful atmosphere and ambience, there's always something to do and something to celebrate. The front desk has a very distinguish service! From the moment you enter the hotel everybody is happy and servicing, the people are great with you.

I was there for my third time on July 2014, while the location, grounds and service are great, the push for time shares in the hotel are annoying and take away from the experience that otherwise would be excellent.
It seems that every time you pass by the front desk located strategically before the elevators, they approach you to invite you to a "presentation" of 90 minutes to sell you Time shares, offering you tours, breakfast even money just to attend and while this could be ok for some people it is super bothersome for those that are not interested and want just to relax.
Other than that I would give them 5 stars.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at higher floor so you can have a view that is not blocked by vegetation.

I would give this hotel a better review but felt the service was back and forth. Sometimes it was excellent and then other times someone would act like they were put out for helping you.

I reserved a Terrace Room with a garden view that was supposed to include in-room breakfast every morning. I ended up in an Ocean View smoking room, without a terrace. However the room did not smell of smoke, and the view was fantastic. We did receive in room breakfast daily which included coffee, assorted rolls, and fruit. However my request for breakfast was met with much disdain the first day I placed my order. They shouldn't offer the rate if they don't want to provide the service.

We did not do all inclusive, but were still required to wear a maroon armband that did not go with my outfits. Regardless we did eat at the pool a few times and the food was very good. The mixed drinks were terrible, and expensive, just order beer. We also ate at the buffet located near the pool one evening, and it was actually very good and fresh. I usually despise buffets, but this one was pretty good, even though our waiter was a bit grumpy and added his own tip to the bill.

The pool area is very nice, large, and family friendly. They even have water aerobics! The beach right off the hotel is more gravel than sand, and the current is also very strong so be careful! Also be prepared to fend off sales people as soon as you leave the pool area. They'll even confront you whilst using the beach showers.

Housekeeping service was great, our housekeeper was very friendly and took care of everything we needed. She left us treats every day.

I didn't love the location, it's about a 10 min walk downtown, and there wasn't anything near the hotel but the hotel. If you're into the resort thing, and just want to lounge, eat, and drink at the same place for your whole trip you'd like the Sheraton. But if you want a little more culture, and adventure, you might want to look elsewhere.

Long story short, the hotel is fine. I'd probably try something different if I ever visit Puerto Vallarta again, but all in all most would be happy with the Sheraton.

Room Tip: Get an ocean view! Beautiful sunsets every night.

I stayed in this hotel several years ago and it has been nicely updated since then. I really love the location, as there is a grocery store nearby and The Malecon is only a 10-15 minute walk.

Front desk service was great at check in and when I exchanged money. Very professional. There was a bit of a hard sell to do the time share tour. I had to say no several times. Also, a few days into the stay we were approached by "the conceirge" by the pool. She asked about how our stay was, but it was very clear that she didn't really care and only wanted us to do the tour. When we said no, she left abruptly and would never say hi or smile from that point forward. Our bellman, Jose Manuel, was awesome!! Great sense of humor and very helpful throughout our stay.

The room was lovely and modern. Amazing views! Very nice bed and bedding. A/C was superb. Housekeeping was average. She missed a few small things on a daily basis, but it was not that big of a deal. She was very friendly.

Two pools, one with music and activities, one quiet. Both very nice and just gorgeous. Swim up pool bar staff was very slow! The sushi at the quiet pool was very good. Heads up, the iguanas do jump in the pool at times to get to the little island, so be prepared.

We ate the first night at Embarcadero restaurant. It was terrible. The food was not good and the staff really made us feel like we were bothering them to eat there. We never ate at the hotel again. They do offer all inclusive, but based on the food I saw, I would avoid it. So much good food a short walk away anyway. The lobby bar is lively in the evening, with good drinks and very attentive service. The music was a bit cheezy, but fun just the same. Tip- get a styrofoam cooler at the Oxxo across the street, then hit the Mega and buy beer. Save a ton of money.

All in all, highly recommended. Modern, clean, gorgeous. If they could tone down the time share pitch, I would say excellent service. Just don't eat here.

Room Tip: Be aware, the rooms in the main hotel have no balconies
