“Nice place to relax”
Reviewed 30 November 2011

This place is very quiet and very close to the airport. Taxis from the airport charge a flat rate of 180 pesos. The bus will cost you only 6.50 pesos. It's located in front of the marina entrance with nice views. Pools are very clean and nice to relax. The beach is basically non-existent. It's acroos the street in another part of the complex where the villas are located (about 200 m walk). We had a wonderful room (7021) with beatiful views of the pools. Great hard beds, flat screen tv, etc. Shower had great water preassure. Nice ammenities. Room had a kitchenette, but no fridge and no utensils. Breakfast (included in our rate) was very good. Hotel is about 25 min from the action of downtown Vallarta. Take this into consideration. Check-in was easy (late evening), but check-out (mid-day) was the longest I've experienced in my life.Overall, avery nice place to stay if you get a good rate.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor room, facing the pools; and avoid at all cost a room close to reception which i...

First time in this hotel and we were surprised by the service and the hotel. The room was in very good conditions, the location is amazing you have the marina in one side and the beach across the street. We had a great time, we definitely going back to this hotel.

taxi from airport - ripp off as usual - should be no more than $5 hotel is very close to airport -
they tried to charge up to $26, the bus is 50 cents to Marina entrance and than another bus around the corner for another 50 cents to stop infront of the hotel - most cab drivers don´t know the new hotel name - tell them it´s across the Westin in the Marina.
only half the rooms are updated and Hotels.com offered a AZUL (blue room at $80 with a 30% discount including breakfast (nice large buffet-eggs made to order, bacon on demand) - if you book the standard room, they are very old and have no view and noizy - the resort is full booked over the weeends with local families 250 plus are driven in by busses, very little US visitors. i had several rooms since i stayed here for 3 weeks except the weekends (Los Tules and downtown) room 5032 is the best, nice king bed flat screen tv - toilet facing in the proper direction new A-C with wall unit
(the worst is room 3032) currently i stay in 6042, old tv old aircon, no chair for desk, no chair for small
balcony, 1st night no lights in bath. lots of maintenance going on, the 8th floor is trashed former penthouse suites. if you book the all inclusive you have to eat what you get and you can by your own beer and wine in the small supermarket 300 feet to the left of the hotel. and the marina has lot´s of excellent restaurants, my favorite Mariscos - dinner for $10 freash fish everyday and free stuff (SURPRISE) people will tell you they are closed (Tue closed) when you walk along the pier since the other restaurants charge up to double for the same food.(see my review) come early since they run out of food, happend to me twice during 3 weeks. ---
so if you lucky and get a great room overlooking the large pool on the marina side it´s a good value.
walk to beach 300 feet with 2 more pools but no beach chairs, since the water reached the resort wall. Daily activities in spanish - not recomended for young children (check out the Melia Resort across the street) beach, save to swim, i always went next door into the ocean, since the boats seam to stop infront of the beach of Vamar.
What is missing: refrigerator, bucket for ice, towels are a rare commodity if something needs to be fixed it takes a day or two. reception very friendly and helpfull just not very efficient when you check in
(i did it 3 times) they don´t give you a lock for the safe unless you ask (FREE). they don´t give you a remote for the old air conditions (the new once are build into the wall). They run out of bottled water at the font desk all the time, the fist visit i had 2 bottles in my room, what a nice surprice.
DON NOT DISTURB SIGN - must bring your own - the service personal comes at least 3 to 4 times a day also during siesta time. But if the price is right we all can live with the mexican way of running a hotel. MeuterMedia

Room Tip: Azul Rooms are the renovatged ones, standard rooms are not recommended

We visited once again in May of this year and the staff and the hotel rememered us and treated us like gold. My wife and I had visited the resort in Feb 2011 and had an awesome trip. Mariano and the rest of the staff were so nice and aprreciative that we decided to go back on our 25th anniversary. We would like to thank all of the staff (Mariano,Hector,Samuel,Luis and all the other great staff) for their service and the commitement they give to the job that they do so well. The management for upgrading our room (which was fabulous). Thank you once again and we hope to see you in Feb 2012. Once again thanks and keep up the great service. Just remember that bad reviews are from people that have it to good. I am proud to say that I would visit this resort or buy a time share when ever I could if the opportunity arose.
Thanks Again Morley and Kim MacKay

You get the beach and the Marina all in one hotel. They have improved everything. It is great and the rooms are big. The drinks came from a bottle not a gun so you know what your drinking.

I stayed at this hotel in August 2011 and had an amazing experience. The facility is very clean and big. There is a pool on both the beachside and the marina. There are plenty of restaurants and shops you can walk to. The service is impeccable. I have been to other places where I have to wait for someone to even notice me at the front desk but I could walk up and within seconds be helped by a very friendly hotel staff. The food is decent for an all-inclusive resort. The rooms are very spacious with marble everywhere. It gets a little slippery when you are wet or it has rained but it is none the less very nice. As a girl I am always big on the bed linens. The sheets, pillows, etc. were very clean and comfortable. I felt as if I was staying at a high end resort. I always felt very safe and enjoyed our walks along the marina at sunset. I would recommend this to anyone staying in Puerto Vallarta:)

I did not know what to expect prior to our arrival but once there I was extremely happy. The rooms are huge, thet food is good, the beach is nice, I love the pool and alll the free alcoholic drinks. How can I forget just gentle people like Mariano, Nelly, Jorge, Luis, Becerra and so many other wonderful staff. The next time I go to Vallarta, I will stay once again at the Embarcdero Pacifico soon to become Vamar Vallarta.

Sgned, Magdalena Aguilar

Room Tip: I would recommend going with two twin beds because the rooms are big, the balcony is great
