“Amazing B&B on Playa Conchas Chinas”
Reviewed 24 June 2014 via mobile

The QMC is a luxurious and classic PV bed and breakfast about a 5 min ($6) cab ride from the Zona Romantica. We stayed in the Maria, which was an incredibly romantic and very comfortable room. The website pictures give you a sense of the beauty, but everything about the hotel and that room is top end. The staff are very kind and helpful. They were very accommodating in the kitchen and made us gluten free/vegetarian breakfasts. There was a small and lovely private pool with a beach view. The beach right at the base of the hotel is beautiful. They put chairs out in the am for hotel guests. It's a 20 min and slightly adventurous/rocky walk along the beach to the centro/ZR. There's an outdoor hotel restaurant (La Playita) a nice 15 min walk South on the beach that has Sunday brunch and lunch/dinner.

We recently returned from a vacation at the Quinta Maria Cortez and absolutely loved it. It was charming and beautiful and the staff were top-notch. Jose, the manager, greeted us upon our arrival and was friendly and helpful during our entire stay. We stayed in the Guadalupe suite and the views and proximity to the beach were unbelievable. We also had the beach to ourselves most of the time, which was a welcome change from the other sections of the beach we walked along that were crowded and full of vendors. The walk in to town was not exactly a leisurely stroll, as there were rocks to climb, but it didn't deter us from making the walk several times and it was nice to be close enough to walk in for lunch or dinner. I loved how quiet the hotel was and you almost felt like you had the place to yourself, except for the other guests you would see at breakfast, with whom it was fun to get to know. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to get away to a quiet and relaxing vacation. There are no swim-up bars, buffets, or drinks brought to you on the beach, so if that is what you are looking for then you would be better off at a big resort. But if you are looking for a top-notch hotel with incredible charm, fantastic views and a wonderfully private beach - this place is for you!

Room Tip: You can't beat the beach access from the Guadalupe suite! Its literally right outside your door.

Hands down, the Quinta Maria Cortez was the most wonderful, accommodating B&B I have ever stayed at. The staff was impeccable, Roberto and Jimmy were over the top helpful with everything from how to get around, what were the best places to eat, and overall just making the experience worth it just from talking with them. We felt so safe the entire trip, and Jimmy made that happen with how on top of everything he was. We rented an atv for the whole day and they not only tried to put the atv in the house to be safe at night, but when it didn't fit through the doors, we locked it up outside and he made sure to keep an eye on it the whole night, along with all of his other duties. The staff at breakfast were also wonderful. The food was delicious and they were so sweet! The place itself is more beautiful then I can describe and it truly is a place that you must experience for yourself. We ended up buying a Livingsocial deal for this spot and we know that it doesn't matter how much it normally costs, we are repeat customers for life. After I bought the deal I tried to book the suite Alejandro, but someone had gotten to it faster then I had, so we were able to stay in Maria and Rafael. We were in Puerto Vallarta on there downtime, so it was amazing that after we moved to our second suite, we just couldn't help how intense the humidity was and asked if we could possibly move to another room. Roberto was more then accommodating and immediately moved all of our stuff again. I honestly can't say that any particular suite was better then another because the whole place was so unique and beautiful that I would suggest any of the rooms. Thanks again Quinta Maria Cortez for making this trip unforgettable and we look forward to returning very soon.

If you are into quiet, beauty, and relaxation, in a unique environment this is the place! There were days we saw no one but us on the beach. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You never hear anyone pounding above or next to you. Perfection!

Room Tip: Consider whether or not you want air conditioning when picking a room. We were there in May and it...

This was our second stay at Quinta Maria Cortez. It was every bit as lovely as last year's visit. Great location, great building, wonderful guests and the best staff one could ever hope for. It's interesting; during the stay we encountered many people staying in other places around PV. There wasn't a single one that was more appealing than QMC, and in fact many people wanted to know more about where we were! This is the place for my sister and me. We can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: Every room is wonderful, all are unique. We stayed in Maximiliano the past two years and love it. On...

This hotel is a unique Bed and Breakfast right on the water. I walked to Downtown PV in about 15 min along the shore. Cab rides are around $60 pesos.

The Alejandro room has great views on both balconies down to Los Arcos. The Kitchen works great and comes stocked with a set of plates, silverware, glassware, etc. Fridge come stocked with beer, soda and plenty of water. A 5 gallon water jug dispenser is provided in case you don't want to drink the water from the tap. The style is super cool, open and flowing with white curtains separating the spaces. Very romantic. Looked like a Music Video or something out of a magazine. No AC but in April it was fine.

Roberto and the Staff were helpful (though they are not around in the evening). Very relaxing and not the loud party atmosphere like other resorts in PV. Breakfast was great. You get a menu and can select your main course. Say whales an dolphins from the palapa-covered breakfast area. Only about 7 rooms. The pool is small but good when the beach is covered with jellyfish (AKA medusas).

Maybe a bit more than some other choices, but I found it to be a very good value in PV. Can't wait to go back again.

Room Tip: The Alejandro is near the bottom of the property, but has the best views.

Stayed there with friends and family this month. The place is great for couples or small groups -- rooms are neat and interesting, staff is very friendly and efficient, and the vibe is totally relaxing. Make sure you have a room with air conditioning if you can, as it can be very hot. The made to order breakfasts each day were wonderful -- only thing I would add is home cooked pastries or bread. Pool is small but convenient, and there are several swimming beaches close by. We walked to town several times (easy to do), or take a quick $5 taxi ride. I liked being close to old town, but not too close. I definitely would recommend Quinta Maria Cortez.

Room Tip: Lots of steps, so choose your room carefully.
