For the price, it is hard to find a better value in Vallarta. Unless it is midsummer, choose a balcony table so you can enjoy the view into the trees alongside the river. You have a choice of about two dozen authentic Spanish tapas and perhaps a dozen dinner choices. The food is excellent, the owners are so friendly and genuine. I am sometimes surprised how few customers there are, given my own experience and the number of excellent reviews, but I think it's because the location makes it a little difficult to find. I suspect some people worry about walking along the river at night after the souvenir shops have closed or don't think to climb down the stairs from the bridge that crosses the river. The street in front is very busy, with few pedestrian attractions and cars rushing by. Yet the restaurant is really very close to everything. It's very much worth seeking out. Look for it upstairs above the riverside branch of Santander Bank. In high season, the owner plays guitar to accompany a pair of flamenco dancers. If you prefer a quieter evening, go on a night when they don't have flamenco or before 9 when the recorded music is very mellow.
