“Shopping bonanza!”

Owner description: Whether a local or visitor, there are times when we crave certain items here in paradise: the perfect pastrami sandwich, a favorite bottle of wine, or a light and fluffy croissant, as examples. But we have learned to settle. We trade off the sun and warmth for the lack of access to certain items that we long for. Well, those days are gone now that Los Mercados has opened on the south side of Puerto Vallarta, just a half-block west of Rizo’s on Aquiles Serdan. Los Mercados is a combination of 4 stores and a studio, all under one roof, offering the finest collection of items available in the bay!

“Shopping bonanza!”

Finding a grocery in PV that is as clean and wonderful as the stores of Los Mercados is not easy... this place has four stores and a paint your own ceramics studio. Main floor has a deli with the best sandwiches and prepared for take-home meals and sides at Mikey's; the wine and liquor store has everything you would ever want and knowledgeable staff at Cork & Bottle; if you are looking for organic fruits and veggies without a single blemish, then Don Fresco's is for you; then there are the desserts made fresh daily along with great coffee at k'rico...

Upstairs is Fireworks where you can create a huge assortment of painted ceramics, all lead free and a great way to spend an afternoon away from the sun (I mean, who can spend all 7 days of a vacation on the beach??). What's nice at Fireworks is that the lady who runs it is so helpful and funny and it becomes a social gathering, along with food and drink from downstairs, it's almost a party!

I would definitely go back here again and again. you will note that i put a one hour length of visit, but it would be closer to 3 hours if you are doing the ceramics...

“Love Los Mercados!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014

My daughter and I and our friends love Los Mercados. Our fave afternoon activity is painting pottery at Fireworks upstairs in Los Mercados, having lunch at the deli downstairs and later a bite of dessert and a coffee from k'rico. I can even pick up my veggies for dinner there. So convenient!

“There's nothing they don't have or can't get...”

How lucky Puerto Vallartans are to have such a super market in this small 5-shop gem: Nina's Cork & Bottle: great selections of wine & spirits. Mikey's Deli: best sandwiches & food stuffs around; k'rico: perfect pastries like the Chile Chocolate Tart, and Don Fresco: a Tiffeny-inspired presentation of great fruit & veggies. All around a comfy courtyard, run by the nicest people in town: Peter & Bea.

“Wonderful collection of shops”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2013

So glad we came across Los Mercados! We visited each of the individual shops and spent quite some time in the wine store, opting for wine and tequila. Next trip would love to sample some desserts and coffee!

The small central area with the fountain was also peaceful and delightful.

Freshness and service with a smile. Lovely modern atmosphere and all the delectable products are fresh as a stunning daisy. Highest rating for lovely presence, happy people, and sublimely good custom-made with whatever ingredients you want. The chicken salad is so fresh, you think you hear the chicken clucking! Great gringo snacks and goodies at reasonable prices. Staff is super, too, and very helpful.
