We are about to have our last day here and we are sad to leave.
The hotel has everything you need for a great holiday - if it's not obvious, just ask; the staff are more than willing to help you. The hotel is very clean, the catering staff are phenomenal and there is always something going on, provided by the entertainment staff. There are a variety of places to eat and the food is lovely. Don't just lie by the pool though, venture out and see Puerto Vallarta and what it has to offer.

Overall holiday was good. The staff make the hotel, they look after you the whole holiday by getting you drinks and food whilst you relax by the pool. They also are very good at remembering what drinks you like and don't expect to be tipped. Rooms need updating and painting but still very clean, pretty sure they clean them twice a day! Food is good but not for fussy eaters, not much English food. There are five restaurants including Italian, steak house and Mexican which are outstanding and much better than the Buffett restaurant. The only bad thing I can fault is that the hotel security don't stop people coming in the sectioned of sunbathing area trying to sell you stuff all day long which gets rather annoying! Would recommend this hotel for its price and the staff. Loads of sun loungers so you don't have to worry about getting up early. The pool isn't big enough for how many people stay at the hotel. Quite a lot of kids too which wasn't a problem for us even though we don't have kids ourselves. Would defiantly recommend some of the excursions whilst over there like the zip lining and pirate show, and platinum dolphins.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, we had the all inclusive package, so nice to lock the wallet up & not worry about money. We could not find any faults with the canto del sol, everything was super clean, the staff were excellent, very friendly, food great & plenty of choices, are room good size & clean. It is handy to downtown we could have walked but the weather being extremely hot we took taxi, We enjoyed the layout of resort to the much larger resorts around, recommend this resort

Room Tip: 311 was good view over pool & sea

Hotel is very clean and it was the first thing I noticed when we walked in. Check in was a breeze and everyone was very attentive to all of our needs, I also asked about getting a room with an ocean view which they gave me but it did not have a balcony which was ok because we were never in our room. The weather in Vallarta is wonderful if you like it hot and we do :) we had a few showers but they were very short and it definitely helped cool things down at least for a little bit. The food at the resort was good, my favorite meal hands down was breakfast, there's a lady that makes corn tortilla quesadillas that were to die for! and the omelette station was delicious too. I would definietly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a fun relaxed place to bring your family, not so much for honeymooners as there is lots going on.

awesome staff, always there to help, would definitely go back but 10 days instead of 14, dragged a bit towards the end. The food and drink was realy good, even the fast food near the pool was really tasty particularly the shrimp taco and Cowboy burgers. :)

Our family of four stayed here for one week and absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is very clean and the location is great. Only 15 minutes from the airport and within walking distance to the Malecon. We loved the food and appreciated that the buffet choices changed everyday. We can't say enough good things about the staff here as they really do go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable. The nightly shows were so awesome (probably our favorite part of the whole stay) and our daughter really enjoyed the kids club. Can't wait to return!

I will not bore you with the travel out as hours on a plane is a long time, I will say the dream liner is a nice aircraft. A long walk at the airport to baggage reclaim and you have to pass all the hawkers to get outside to the rep, this is not a major issue just hot. On arrival at the hotel as we had a delay the management and staff pulled out all the stops to make checking in easy and they certainly succeeded with a dance demo and everything laid on, this made the start to our break very pleasing. This hotel has got to be the cleanest hotel that I have ever stayed in, you would find that statement hard to believe unless you have stayed there. The hotel is a small intimate hotel which was not full during our two week stay, apart from the weekends when the local weekenders arrive, that said even then it did not seem full. The food was very good and there was always enough choice with theme nights. all the waiting staff and chefs were attentive and willing to take the time to explain the different foods on offer TIP Always try to get a table under a fan as it can get hot in the place especially at the evening meal. Specialty restaurants were very good, mexican, surf and turf and steak are all in the same place on different nights TIP book early to get the times you require. The Italian, which is across the street and a hike through the hotel opposite is a 5 minute walk but worth it, not big portions but enough TIP ask for Rafael to make the special coffee it is quite a treat when he sets light to the brandy.
The snack bar at the pool area has some lovely snacks however this is about my only dislike of the hotel PIGEONS they are around the tables and wont go away, the waiters do try to keep them away, but as long as the tourists put food down for them they will not go(they are vermin and carry disease people dont feed them). The rooms are functional and as with the rest of the hotel they are kept spotless our double had plenty of space for us for the amount of time we spent in there.
The nice touched were every day the staff came out, gathered around the pool and sang the theme song. When the temperature was at its hottest the staff brought round cool towels to mop the brow, these were very welcome. At night a turn down service came round tidied the room and left a chocolate on the bed. Very nice touches.
The only thing I would like to see (or rather my son) is ice cream, even in the specialties on a night.
To conclude if the management should read this review please pass on our thanks to the staff of the Canto del Sol for making our holiday a relaxing and enjoyable one. Pedro, Allan, Manuel in the restaurant. Jorge and Hugo around the pool and Trinidad for the best G&T in Mexico. I would like to name everyone as they worked tirelessly to ensure we had time to remember. I hope this hotel is available in the brochure next time as i will not hesitate to book up for our next trip.

Room Tip: Just ask for a pool facing room
