So where to start
This vacation was our third time to PV and the third time returning to Casa Cupula. It is so nice returning "home"
We had stayed in room 321 the last two visits and it has become our home away from home
The staff are like family now, Tina is amazing, Logan is so helpful, arranging my husbands birthday suprise while we were out horse back riding, which is a trip not to be missed, also Edwin, he's so sweet
The staff at taste restaruant were also great, the only disappointment I had was to find out Sabas no longer works there, he was missed at breakfast big time
During our visit we did have to return home, our brother in law had passed. Making arrangements were very difficult but the staff were accommodating, the phone bill charges were alot of money even to the toll free number of the airline was $54, but we did call from the room , I guess I should have asked the front desk to call, but during all the stress it never crossed my mind. This statement has nothing to do with the running of the hotel just an observation to help others, who hopefully never experience having to return to the U.S unexpectedly
Just want to thank the staff again for helping us try and relax

PV is amazing place to have fun. The only thing that makes it better is the chance to stay at Casa Cupula. This place was amazing. The room was spectacular, great beds with nice fluffy towels. The view off our patio was amazing. Not one I will soon forget. Everyone was extremely friendly and eager to help. Can't wait to get back to PV and Casa Cupula.

Room Tip: Room 303 has a nice secluded patio that is pretty close to heaven, this is my room next time I'm...

If you want the Best stay at Casa Cupula. All the rooms are fabulous. The Taste Restaurant is great, and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They recommended a Sailing trip that was
very nice, 45' yacht with drinks, hors-devours and dinner. We also went on an ATV tour that I highly
recommend. It also stopped at one of the best restaurants we had been to on the trip.

I hope they can find a better Wi-Fi system. It kinda sucked. Don't let that stop you from enjoying this beautiful hotel.

Stayed in suite 302, lovely views and full scale terrace and dipping tub, 2 baths, huge shower, immaculate too. Staff is very accomodating and friendly.
Full service restaurant which is a real plus. Walk for some to the beach may be a tad long, but we did it every day. Taxies are everywhere. Primarily a gay hotel, one of the best in the world.

Room Tip: Room 302, a suite. Very roomy with 2 baths, king bed and views and a wrap around terrace.

Thank you for taking the time to write! It's funny, one of Puerto Vallarta's greatest assets is that everything is accessible and you don't need a car when you stay in our part of town. If you're gay, the gay beach area and nightclubs are all within 4 blocks of Casa Cupula. It's a downhill walk but a cab back up costs about US$3.50 and taxis are very plentiful. Most guests prefer to walk off their Margaritas.

A recent visit to Mykonos (a wonderful gay friendly destination) showed how spoiled we are whenever anyone thinks four blocks to anywhere is far! In Mykonos if you stay in town to be within walking distance to restaurants and shopping, you have to drive about 1/2 hour to the beaches on the other side of the island. Many visitors rent scooters (for the first time, driving in various states of inebriation) and it can be, ahem, challenging.

Vallarta's one of the few destinations where the beach, bars, hotels and restaurants are all close enough that you don't have to worry about about the travel time, as least if you stay with us at Casa Cupula!

We live in New York City, so PV was an amazing escape. The only thing that made it better was Casa Cupula. We arrived to a VIP airport pickup, which was great! A cold beer and a great drive to the hotel, although our driver did make concessions to stop by an ATM, and show us a little of the town. Our flight had been delayed, so we arrived late, but the Concierge and room service, set us up nicely. We stayed in two different Vista King rooms that were both beautiful. The first one a bit noisy, being close to the delicious restaurant Taste, but the other was perfect.

We Stayed for eight nights, and day in and day out the hotel staff and restaurant staff were nothing but kind and hospitable. You feel special when you stay here. They are also all really fun people who like to crack jokes and have a good time!!

They did throw some events, which some were well attended and others were less than. If you are looking for a raging party, sit at the blue/green chairs by day, and treat yourself to a nice relaxing stay by night.

A perfect vacation gym, Pump offers everything you you would need. I was given an amazing Massage, so I would definitely recommend getting yourself one of those. It's super close both the beach an everything else. 10 minute walk to lido, blue/green chairs, as well as tons of clubs/restaurants/bars. At night, everything is approximately a 50-60 peso ride home.

If you're going to do excursions, I'd say try to book them through the hotel. We did zip lining through Casa Cupula, and had a very intimate tour that was a blast! We did another excursion through another company, and although it was a fun excursion, it was the "Walmart" of excursions. Take that as you will.

All in all, a stay at Casa Cupula is amazing. It is luxurious and decadent but not all pretentious. You can have an amazing meal outdoors while watching a giant projector screen of Broadway Bares.

We plan on going back and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Thank you for your review! We especially appreciate the comments about the excursions, because we really do work with providers to give our guests, whose concerns may not always be "mainstream", the best possible experience.

I've been mulling over this review for about a week now and I haven't exactly found the words or where I should begin, so instead, I'm going to let it roll.

My now husband and I were doing research for our Winter Honeymoon (married in August) since September of 2013. After some research we picked Puerto Vallarta as our destination and after further inquiries, we decided on Casa Cupula for our housing. Best decision we made along the way.

From the initial outreach it was obvious that Logan knew exactly what we were looking for without having actually ever met us. We arranged a call, went over expectations/desires, and the place was booked that day. Because of the New Year, the suite we had wanted (Milagro) was not available for out first night, so we stayed in a vista king upon arriving. At first I was worried this would be cumbersome or would distract us from our first night or morning; I was wrong. Everything was handled expediently, professionally and with a friendly smile to match.

Additionally, we ordered the "honeymoon package" that included airport transfer, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, massages, tropical flowers, a 5-course meal from TASTE on our balcony and (3) in-room breakfasts. The food was to die but I will review the restaurant separately. All of these items blew our expectations out of the water, especially the flowers. You can order these a la carte and I highly recommend it! To smell them every day was just perfection and not at all something I would normally think of.

Anyway, as was previously advised, Logan had a personal trip he was taking so he left us in the VERY capable hands of Boris and Edwin. Boris seamlessly handled our airport transportation, check-in, room switch, champagne, breakfasts, starlight dinner and massages. It couldn't have been easier and we had nothing to worry about.

I have to say, though, that our shining star was Edwin. Every question (we had a lot), concern (we had a few) or problem (which there were hardly any) was handled immediately and professionally. He provided suggestions for restaurants (see other reviews), activities, beaches, clubs and even a local brewery for us Americans looking to grab a cerveza.

The grounds: gorgeous and maintained beautifully. The pool is admittedly small but so refreshing after a walk up the hill (which we did not find to be bad at all--we walked every day). The lounge area around it is fantastic and very relaxing. The flowers, the smells, the vines; so beautiful and everyone was so HAPPY. I guess I would be too if I lived in this city!

The room: HOLY. CRAP. The Milagro suite was so amazing I didn't want to leave ever. Being from New York City we are used to what you could call "holes in the wall". This room was FABULOUS. It was divided into two seperate rooms (a kitchen/living area and the bedroom, divided by a small hallway with in-room washer and dryer). The verandah stretched around the entire room providing a balcony with a view of both the jungle and ocean. The bedroom had its own bathroom (another one in the living room) which for New York standards would be an entire apartment, and featured a double headed stone shower with a domed roof above you. The bedroom also featured window-doors which we kept open all day/night, every day/night. We slept so comfortably with the ceiling fans on and the breeze caressing our sun-kissed skin, only to awake to a beautiful view of the ocean the moment we opened our eyes. Everything was fabulous.

Thank you so much to Casa Cupula, Don, Logan, Edwin, Boris and Armando for setting the hospitality standard for this young, newlywed couple. As someone who travels often for work, I have to say, this is the best guest house I have ever stayed in. THANK YOU and see you soon!

Room Tip: Milagro suite has (2) full baths, a verandah to fawn over, washer/dryer, AC, fridge, kitchen and Jac...

Thank you so much for your kind words about the property and the staff. Because we're gay owned with so many gay staff, we're especially delighted to welcome gay honeymooners. We have a choice of honeymoon packages, or do your own thing with Logan our fabulous concierge.

Congratulations!!
