This restaurant is on the Malecon. It has outdoor seating facing the water. The food is excellent.
They serve two size portions of the entrees. A small and a large. Even the small is large enough for one person.

Many of the restaurants along the Malecon, especially in the area immediately around the Rio Cuale, rely primarily on their location; placed somewhere else, they'd go out of business quickly. But Vitea is an exception: they have an interesting menu, with a variety of intriguing, well-prepared options. They also make an outstanding French Toast for breakfast, along with good omelettes, etc. Don't overlook this one if you're looking for a good meal and great people-watching.

The waiters were very nice and the service was great. However, when my lunch arrived, the crispy calamari lunch special - lunch entrée not an appie, it was about a quarter the amount one would get in Canada in a place like the Cactus Club which is a similar level restaurant. The calamari was served on a small appie tray with a few leaves of lettuce and couple of small slices of avocado. The morsels were tasty! But I was very disappointed by the portion size and value for the pesos... the meal was 120 pesos - about the same cost as it would be in Canada. This was my first visit to Vitea and unfortunately will be my last. The location is right on the Malecon which has some appeal, but you do feel like your sitting eating out on the sidewalk - lots of foot traffic going by constantly.
