Great food and ambience. Enjoyed the Mexican trio's music; wasn't too loud or overbearing. Recommend adding this establishment to your list of restaurants while in PV.

Great combination of terrific food, gracious service, and a strong wine list.

Service clearly is first and foremost here but wow the dpfood was great too. On par with upscale dining in North America.

Music was fantastic.

Highly recommend.

My husband and I had not been to the Trio in a few years and decided it was time to go back and we were not disappointed. The strolling musician was wonderful and certainly added to the ambience. His music was wonderful. We started with the papardelle with garlic and tomatoes and the beets appetizer. Both were good. The main courses were better - we had the small filet mignon and the sea bass and both were excellent. They also comped a cup of garlic soup which was very good as well. The real hit of the evening was the dessert - it was the most fabulous apple strudel and we shared it. We will definitely be back to Trio next winter.

My only complaint is that the chairs are not very comfortable.

As regular visitors to PV, we have previously rated Trio the best of the city's restaurants, but no longer. We took friends with the promise of something special and were embarrassed by very poor cooking and desultory service. Items from the special tasting menu were perhaps the worst...a sweetbread risotto in which the sweetbreads were mushy and tasteless (probably too old) and the dish as a whole too oily with the fat not adequately incorporated into the rice; and a sea bass preparation where the saucing was adequate but the fish, like the sweetbreads, mushy and not fresh tasting. A steak ordered medium rare was overcooked, and another fish option was even less inspired than the special. The calamari were excellent if you were keen on that kind of preparation (plain slices in a spicy tomato broth), but half our number wanted it grilled and thought that was what the waiter promised. Cocktails were good but overpriced and not enough of a calming influence to make us even consider dessert. All in all, an expensive disappointment.
