such a cool restaurant, outdoors in a floral courtyard.

it's a really great inviting, quiet environment, and the food was really great!

Service was also very good, and made for a great evening out with friends.

highly recommended.

apparently, the place changed hands, but it was a good thing
the staff is still intact
the menu is largely the same

for those who haven't been, this is the old plantation house
rather elegant - by zihua standards
a MUST on every trip

Coconuts is like a magnet. Once you go, you just keep getting pulled back! We spent a month in Zihua from mid Feb. to mid March and visited Coconuts several times. We could sit "bar side" and watch a large screen T.V. The Olympics were on when we were there. Weather it was just for drinks, Mario and Alejandro took very good care of us, or for dinner, Abraham and Arturo were there with their smiles and outstanding service! The entire staff and management made our last night in Zihua such a memorable experience! Dinner was awesome, as always! Chef Antonio prepared for us Crème of Mushroom soup, which was unbelievably fantastic! (It was a special request). The pasta and pork chops were excellent! Juanito sang for us with a voice that could melt butter! Abraham put on quite a show for us with the "Flaming coffee"! Quite entertaining. Juan Pablo visited our table with a bottle of Champagne. If you want casual, you can have casual. Or something more formal or romantic? Try the beautiful dining area! With every visit were treated with kindness, and we now consider the entire staff our family. I can't wait to return to Zihua, Coconuts, and our friends! Truly a memory to treasure!!!

Coconuts is housed in a building oozing with that "old Mexico" charm, and it has an incredible outdoor courtyard surrounded by towering trees and lush vegetation that alone makes it worth a visit. Not to mention that they have a live two-piece band playing while you dine. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful.
The owner/manager was very friendly and treated us to glasses of champagne when he discovered it was our honeymoon trip.
It's maybe a little bit pricier than some of the other hotel restaurants we visited while in Zihua, but not overly so, and the setting alone was a welcomed change of pace. I would absolutely recommend a dinner at Coconuts while in Zihuatanejo.
