We drove out here one day for lunch, there are some really fantastic family run restaurants on the beach. We had lunch at Euramada Teresita Desde which was amazing.
The beach its self is out of this world, with its tranquil setting, just miles of white sand in this very quiet place.
It’s wonderful that’s its not overrun with great big hotels, but instead, has private villas, condos and a few small exquisite hotels. The roads are a little bumpy to get here which adds to its charm and at the same time keeps it unspoilt.

We had a really long walk after a very lazy lunch and rounded the day off drinking cocktails whilst watching the beautiful sun set over the beach.

Well worth a visit

Recently back (early April) from a return visit to Playa Blanca/Barra de Potosi. "Slice of Paradise" may be an overused phrase but certainly not to describe this incredible, unspoiled 10-mile stretch of white sand beach with its warm, swimmable water, breathtaking views and delightful enramadas (beachfront seafood restaurants) in the village of Barra de Potosi. Most difficult to believe is that this totally laid back vacation paradise is located just 15 minutes and a world away from Zihuatanejo International Airport. Enchanting not too strong a word to describe this entire virtually hidden gem of a vacation spot. A must visit for all who enjoy a relaxed, peaceful break from the hectic everyday world.

Clean and low profile . Authentic and original . Walkable and swimmable . Talk about swimming and walking : a swim at sunrise in this protected bay is as close a heavenly dip as anyone can imagine . Floating in a perfect temperature water ,birds flying over head with their bellies pink from the rising sun ,cocooned by the hills around the bay , is an experience that I never fail to savour every time I visit . Long late afternoon walks on the 6 miles long beach ,flat and with more birds than people . Nice homes and B&Bs along the way . The walk back timed with the sunset and looking forward to a simple but delicious dinner of tacos in the village or a more fancy fare in the restaurants open at night along Playa Blanca. Shouldn't forget to mention lunches at the enrammadas , feet in the sand and fresh fish on the table. Great hospitality from the people of the village makes Playa Blanca and Barra de Potosi the beach of my dreams.

Ten miles of unspoiled white sand beach just ten minutes from an international airport. I didn't believe it was still possible to find a place like this. I found this site that has good directions on how to get there by bus- http://barradepotosidirectionsto.jimdo.com/. The enramada restaurants in the village at he south end sit right on the sand and have amazing views. The rocky point seems to block the big waves so the swimming was great; 81 degrees and sandy bottom. Next trip I want to stay there and explore the lagoon. Apparently is is swarming with interesting birds. Definitely a top attraction.

We went to Petatlan in the morning, following directions from a Trip Advisor suggestion, which turned out to be interesting - nothing too great. Then, we took a Barra la Petosi and ate there - interesting but a bit overrun! Then, we walked down the beach, for about an hour, thinking that we might be able to find something in Playa Larga, but not really knowing. As it was getting hot, we$% came across Chula Vida - small restaurant right on the beach. We spent about four hours there - probably the nicest time of our 9 days in the area! The food was great, service wonderful, setting priceless. At the end of the day, around 6:30 for us, the owner gave us a free shot of tequila, called a cab for us, and presented us with a reasonable bill of about $35 US! We then took a cab back - a wonderful day overall! We highly recommend a visit there!
