There is nothing but food for the soul in the walkway on the bay where the fishermen are bringing in your dinner each day. Forget your troubles and just get happy with a stroll along the Paseo del Pescador.

Las Gatas is a gem on the south side of Zihua bay. Best way to get there is to take a taxi to the pier then buy a 40 peso ticket to ride the panga over to Las Gatas. There are many good restaurants lining the beach so choose one, settle in on a lounger, have a refreshment and enjoy the day. Swimming is safe. Snorkelling along the offshore reef is safe but the reef is not up to Caribbean standards so have reasonable expectations. First ferry across is about 10 amd and lost one back to Zihua is at 5pm. Can be verfy b usy at weekends so midweek is a better bet.

Yes, we can still say that Zihuatanejo is truly a fishing village. There is nothing more real than seeing the local fishermen, in the early mornings, displaying their fresh fish caught from the night before. Without this, the soul of Zihuatanejo will be lost.
Let's hope they will never disappear.

Go to the Zocolo on Tuesday or Thursday evenings to watch basketball games or local talent shows. If you are lucky guitarfest will have a show. Lots of restaurants line the paseo most as very good. Enjoy the 2 for 1 margaritas. Great area for breakfast - watch the fisherman deal with the catch. We would buy our fish and take home for supper - cannit get any more fresh than that
