Our room was occupied at the hotel we were to stay at for a couple of days was occupied the first night- since we had all ready paid by Pay Pal, the owner had the taxi driver take us to this hotel. We were really surprised at how nice it was. We had been staying at another hotel across the wash a couple blocks away and never new this hotel was there. Do not know how many times we had passed by close to the hotel. Our only complaint is, because we were only staying the 1 night and then going to our other hotel if we wanted to make coffee we would have to rent the coffee pot- it's free if you are staying longer. The hotel is just across the wash(canal) from one of our favorite places for breakfast. There are so many little places like this in "Z" that you do not here about. The hotel is in walking distance to everything. It is a beautiful walk from the hotel to the bay and the basketball court where everyone goes on Sunday night. Sunday night is family night at the basketball court with entertainment and all the food carts.
What one has to remember most beds are hard. So many places have a concrete platform and the mattress put on top- very hard.

Room Tip: We like the balcony on the street side to be able to people watch.

First timers in this hotel. Great location, close to everything, downtown, madera beach, supermarket, town market, etc. In the morning a guy in a tricycle came to the hotel’s front door to sell fresh fruits and another French bread, you can’t beat that! Very comfortable suite with balcony. Services well adequate for the price. Nice pool and bar area, they don't sell drinks you have to bring your own which was ok with us and they even let you use their fridge if you want to put your beers. The staff is wonderful, Edison the manager, Thia (Edison's auntie), "smiley" Maria our chambermaid and Joel the night watchman that made us feel very secure at night. A great all round place. They made us feel right at home. We'll be back and recommend it to our friends.

Room Tip: If you have a hard time with stairs then ask for a suite on the 2nd floor, the hotel doesn't hav...

Solimar Inn was recommended by friends that stayed there a couple of years ago and we're glad they did. The manager is very helpful with his very good English giving us great tips on what to see and where to eat. Our suite was clean and spacious and priced right. We enjoyed having our relaxing morning coffee at the balcony overlooking the small park while making plans for the day. The pool area is small but very nice I loved the decoration and plants around it. In general I can say that the place is cozy and seems well maintened. This was our first trip to this resort in Mexico and our week vacation turned out a lot better than expected. We loved downtown old town look. Food was great in every place we ate, they have delicious dishes some very exotic like Shrimp with Coconut and Mango sauce. We’ll be back for sure and stay at Solimar Inn and probably become one more of their regulars as other guests we met there. A big hello to *Maximus* their beautiful german shepper.

Room Tip: Suites are spacious and comfortable with air conditioner cable tv and kitchenette for basic cooking...

This hotel had everything we needed for our short stay. Located close to beaches, market and restaurants and anything else a short bus or taxi ride away. Clean and pleasant. Wish we could have stayed longer! Entertaining park outside. Hope they get that pump fixed.

This was my first time in Zihuantinejo and my traveling partners second time. We stayed for only one week (unusual for this hotel) from Feb 8th to 15th 2013. The hotel is only about a dozen rooms all facing an inside courtyard with a pool, patio sitting area, bar area with microwave and frig for storing drinks/food. The bar is not a business, more like your home bar. The patrons tend to be long term repeaters, some coming here for 20 years. I felt like I was in a friendly family reunion despite being my first time. People all have their own agendas for traveling but coming "home" you were sure to find someone to talk to or arrange an occasional meal with. The hotel is very clean and Edison and his aunt are very helpful. Edison speaks very good English and knows his area well. Located in a non touristy area, no one bothers you to buy things and the prices are the same for gringos as locals. Most locals do not speak fluent english so it has even less of a touristy feel. Wonderful fruit and green markets all around and prices are a steal. Would strongly recommend. Had no problem with the water but owner has jugs of purified water if desired.

Room Tip: in general the kitchenettes are stocked adequately for minimal cooking. Dishes, silverware, coffee...
