We stayed in the "Penthouse" of this small, somewhat understated hotel. The room itself was quite small. However, it was clean, had a king sized bed, and thankfully had an air conditioning (Zihua gets quite hot and humid). Every day when we returned to the room after the beach, we were treated to little "sculptures" on our bed that the cleaning staff made with our towels, flowers and our Maggie Simpson doll that came along on the trip (see picture).

But the real highlight of our stay at La Quinta was our fabulous deck, with a gorgeous view of Zihua! You can see from the picture (from our deck) why Zihuatanejo is clearly one of the most beautiful places in the world. The penthouse was a little bit more expensive than the other rooms ($130/night), but definitely well worth it! It is within walking distance of the beach, and town and had a pleasant, helpful staff.

We recommend this hotel, particularly if you can stay in the penthouse!

We have been staying at the Andres for 5 years and have just returned from our 2005 vacation. We already made arrangements for 2006 and 2007 vacations at this place. Andres is conviently located on Playa Madera and is in walking distance to town. The staff is always aiming to please their guest. Just ask and you will probably receive.

They have nice clean rooms. A pool with a yard (with grass) and a few palm trees overlooking the ocean. They have hot water for their showers, a room refrigerator and coffee maker if you ask for it.
Outside the room is a nice patio deck with a table and two chairs. The lawn has lounge chairs for sun bathing. The cheaper room is $50 and has two double beds. They have more expensive rooms as well which are quite nice. Overall it was a very nice experience.

I had usually stayed at cheaper hotels that only have cold water showers and definitely all concrete - no grass so that is why I appreciated this hotel so much and the price wasn't that much higher than the concrete hotels.
