You've got to attend the theatre if you get a chance. We were lucky to catch a performance by the Guadaljara/Jalisco Folklorico troupe. What a happy surprise.

Currently, there is a series of free concerts, Tuesday evenings at 8. Show up about 30 minutes early and get an entry pass near the main entrance, then go to the back of the line. When the doors open, the line moves quickly and (mostly) politely. Unless you are very near the front of the line, the main floor orchestra fills first. To the left or right of that central entry, you will find the doors to the first, slightly raised first level... I think it is the best.

Attending any event is a grand experience. This is an awesome, opulent opera house.

Feel free to glare at anyone who is inconsiderate enough to not turn off the ringer of their cell phone.

Tom

We were sorry we could not have stayed longer and gone to a concert here. During our visit there was a soloist practicing and from the sound, the acoustics were excellent.

Almost every night there is something going on at the theater. When we were in Guadalajara, there was a Spanish guitarist in concert, and it was free! Go in and enjoy the many wonderful shows and beautiful architecture!
