Owner description: This 2,000-foot gorge makes for an interesting view.

The view is awesome. It's a landscape ful of nature. What is really stupid is that they don't allow dogs. People go there for jogs or for a nice walk, and many of us would like to take our dogs. It's kind of retrograde not to allow them in. Anyway, I also rated it poorly because I've been in Barranca de Huentitan and it a lot nicer (not sure if they allow dogs there). Also, at the bottom of it there's a small river with a waterfall. Nice view but it stinks so bad.
There's a bathroom facility, but was closed.

nice view of this place, a place to exercise, relax and share with friends, be aware at night because it becomes very dangerous

Great hike. It was a weekday not weekend as recommended by other reviewer but I felt completely safe, there were dozens of people there walking/running including several single women. At the top there are a few vendors of snacks and juices. I took a cab there but got the bus back to Guadalajara Centro from the trailhead for 6 pesos. Only issue was that at the bottom there was police keeping anyone from going further up or down the river, my Spanish wasn't good enough to fully understand what was up but from another post I gather construction of a dam is in progress. But that was the going to be the end of the hike anyway.
