“noisy and old”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2014

Our friends had stayed there before so we joined them and the noise on the street was horrible and we could not sleep because of the traffic and noise all night and we our room faced the side street. The basic room is fine but the bathrooms are old and we found hairs on the floor and the toilet would not stop running until I took off the top and fixed it each time, The food was good and the price was right and the location was good, but next time we will look for a better hotel

The room -#207-for the first night had a lot of street noise, the gym only had three cardio machines with one of them not working, the internet in the computer TV was useless as it kept on freezing up but the worst was the clogged up shower head and shower drain. We moved to 419 the second day and the shower worked well but the internet did not work at all. At 2 am we could here all the noise from our neighbors in the room above ours. We've stayed at many Holiday Inn hotel in both Mexico and the US and we've always quite rooms with everything in working order, so for a lot less money you may have a better experience at the Hotel Roma across the street or at the other hotel a block away on the same Av. Juarez.

We stayed here for a vacation for a few days. The hotel location is perfect for walking around and seeing the historic part of the city. Lots to see in the area within a couple of blocks. The area feels safe walking around even at midnight. The hotel staff was great. We paid for the breakfast, it was good and the coffee was great. The rates were very reasonable. I recommend a little café across the street also, called "Chia" which had good snack food and coffee even late at night.

Room Tip: We got the Jacuzzi suite, and even though we didn't use the Jacuzzi the room was spacious and ve...

As the title shows, there's no shuttle pick up from the airport, and as told by another reviewer the shuttle only runs certain hours so keep that in mind. I had to shed $300 pesos for the taxi from the airport which in dollars was about $24, not a fortune but that's not the point. I nicely pointed out to them about the shuttle issue not being specific or clear enough and might be even deceiving since getting a pick up from the airport was a selling point for me and my family and suggested to get a refund for my cab ride and they nicely declined :( Other than that everything else was great!! I even got a free upgrade for having platinum status on my priority club card to an awesome suite with Jacuzzi and a beer in my fridge and sodas!!! Family was impressed!!! So, with the exception of the shuttle desk, I loved this place and highly recommend it.

We hadn't made a reservation for our stay in Guadalajara, so we played it safe with the holiday inn option. It was only one night stay both ways, and this was on our way to Los Cabos, we made a better selection on our way back from los cabos, we stayed at "Plaza Diana Hotel" I have a review on it, check it out.

So to start off, they offer shuttle transportation to and from the airport, just make sure its during "working hours" from 8-5, we were lucky and got one at 7 a.m. the following morning, but usually its from 8-5. So if your plane arrives and leaves @ those times, you've got free transportation, (well and what ever you want to tip the driver which are also the bell boys)

Its location is the best, It is walk distance from the Historic Downtown Guadalajara, so you can go walk around and visit all the beautiful attractions, we ate at this awesome restaurant which is a block away called "La Chata de Guadalajara" its also on my reviews, and there are plenty of other restaurants to choose from. So location is the best

Comfort and services, were as expected from holiday inn, we order just desert from the restaurant which was delicious, "bell boys" are courteous and well informed, the rooms are very nice and well equipped, over all we were satisfied with service comfort and location.

The BAD expirience:
well room was not ready and was not told about it,
30 min, into relaxing in the room, we were rudely interrupted by room service... lol it was uncomfortable they knocked and quickly opened the door, without even waiting for a response,
they were there to fill up the mini bar, Lets just say I was about to enter the shower.... that was the uncomfortable part. It would have been my wife, and well they would not have heard the end of it.

I've come to except but the average from the Holiday Inn chain. And this hotel is no exception. Average service--when you ask for it. The room was comfortable but musty and I had to open the windows to freshen it up. Little is done to upgrade or maintain this old building and as old buildings go, it smelt of an old building. Some can really do up an old edifice, Holiday Inn is not one of them. On an above average note, I did have two good breakfasts at their restaurant, Dolci Mexico. Service was attentive and the food was cooked to order. Around the corner from here is Hotel Morelos; I think I'll try them next time I'm in GDL.

Room Tip: I got a room facing the street. I think getting an interior room would have been more stuffy and cla...
