If you are on a business trip this is the place to be. It's the tallest building in the city so the views are beautiful and no other building will block your view.

I stayed at one of the executive floor rooms and they are perfect. They are big, nicely appointed and everithing works as it's supposed to. The staff at the reception are always on the lookout to help you, they're really great and always a smile on their face.

The buffet breakfast is delicious with quality food and excellent service.

The staff of the event facilities were the most professional people I ever found at hotels and events - Thanks to them our event was perfect, we didn't have to ask for nothing, everything was ok and on time.

The only thing that didn't match the hotel and the service was the valet parking. Those guys were rude, slow, noisy and inattentive, they could use some good training (the kind you get at home).

You get free wifi but it's soooooo sloooooooowwwww specially for youtube streaming,

Well with that said, staying there for 11 nights was a great experience.

Room Tip: Get an upgrade to the executive floor, it's worthed all the way. I noticed they also have a flo...

I am not sure what to make of this hotel - the colours are among the most neon and gaudy I have encountered. My floor and room were neon greed. Other floors were a purple-pink or rusty orange. It is a huge hotel . . . and I did wonder how the owners managed to get planning permission to build such a high building in a low-level, suburban neighbourhood. It does stand out; the advantage is, I suppose, that it is not easy to get lost, as this high hotel can be spotted from a distance. I liked the location, in that it was easy to walk to a large plaza and restaurant district; the city centre is a taxi-ride away. The restaurant for breakfast is huge, and reminded me of those large restaurants associated with all-inclusive budget holiday hotels .... but the food was good and it was easy to find quieter spots on the balcony. I have mixed feelings on this hotel, and would likely opt for a smaller hotel if I had a choice, but there is nothing really wrong with it.

I recommend this hotel, is modern and new, rooms are big.

I stayed in 408 and has plenty space and nice view, they surprise me when they give me beberages free from mini bar and has free internet too, rate included breakfast and was awesome.

Pool, gym, restaurant and bar are great, nice place to stay in Guadalajara

This is the 2nd time spent at this hotel. Rooms are large, housekeeping in excellent. Great Breakfast buffet.Crown level rooms are the way to go.Internet is OK, but not real fast. Crown Lounge is just OK and could be upgraded a bit with a computer and printer for Crown level guests.Front desk is very friendly and efficient. Beautiful lobby. Great take-a-way cafe.

Room Tip: High Floor

A very nice hotel in Guadalaraja. The staff and admosphaere is very friendly. Large and clean hotel rooms. excellent breakfast buffet, with all what you need. From the Hotel to the Airport it take app. 30min by taxi (250,00MXN). In the Lobby is a small coffee shop integrated. The evening you can enjoy in the hotel bar with Mexican food. In the Hotel you cannot Exchange currency directly. But there is a ATM machine, where you can get Money (the menu is in Spanish only). Currency Exchange (hard Money) is outside of the Hotel possible only.

Went here on a business trip. Getting to Guadalajara is a challenge in itself. The town is mostly what you would expect in the heart of Mexico, a little rough, but with some nice tourist attractions. This is a destination for many mexican people on vacation. The Riu was a great surprise. Besides being the tallest building in the town by about 10 stories, it was very modern, clean, really what you expect in a large city in the USA. Rooms were nice with great views.

Overall a great place to stay.

After a bit of a rough start at check in, due to the fact that someone in charge of our group decided to play favorites and switch my room on the 32nd floor to a room on the 3rd floor... Not the hotel's fault and they did eventually correct the problem... i would agree with the many other reviews of this hotel... Best breakfast buffet in Mexico, best shower and water pressure ever in a hotel... Very friendly and English speaking staff... I did find myself getting on the wrong elevators quite often.(my fault) I also had a wonderful massage... I had no problem whatsoever getting in to the breakfast room on Sunday morning. I did however prefer the location of the Intercontental Presidente and the fact that I was always able to upgrade my room to a suite with a large balcony with lounge chairs... And there was a mall and supermarket directly accross the street... Not so at the RIU....

Room Tip: go high! Much better view and less street noise....
