I go to Guadalajara twice a year and decided to give the RIU another visit after its original opening a couple of years ago. Their breakfast buffet is excellent - one of the best and a bit pricey for Guadalajara, but good. However, again I was dissapointed in the overal Hotel service and rooms. Although we had a lovely view - the attention to detail is very cheap, pool service is difficult to obtain unless you go directly to the bar for service. Spa services were nice - not great but nice. Steam room is available and also a nice aspect. The hotel is well located with good access and nearby rate exchange houses and stores. Reception was not as knowledable about things that are basic. Walls are very thin and everything is heard - load voices, fighting and if you like quiet ... youll need earplugs. Okay for business if you are out most of the day or maybe for families because of the pool if your expectancy is more on the location. The bar is very nice with live music. I would visit the bar and breakfast buffet - but won't stay there again.

Room Tip: On corner with no attaching doors or other neighbors. The higher the room - less concerns.

Very convenient location, modern decoration, great view... Nice rooms, big and clean... Quick check-in and check-out service... The breakfast buffet was great! A lot of options and delicious... I'll definitely come back

Room Tip: Higher floors have the best view

The lobby is huge, very tall with lots of decorations, a lot of movement, people coming in and out, people enjoying the lobby. Rooms are big and spacious and so are the bathrooms. Pool area is great, one of the best I've seen in a metropolitan area that is not at the coast although it's a little windy; however, the water temperature is very warm. The gym is very lively which I liked, usually I am the only one working out and it's kind of boring haha. The breakfast buffet is something you have to witness, trust me, almost everything you can thing of for breakfast, they have it there and more! I wish they had a jacuzzi although they do have a steam room. Finally the location is hard to beat.

If you are on a business trip this is the place to be. It's the tallest building in the city so the views are beautiful and no other building will block your view.

I stayed at one of the executive floor rooms and they are perfect. They are big, nicely appointed and everithing works as it's supposed to. The staff at the reception are always on the lookout to help you, they're really great and always a smile on their face.

The buffet breakfast is delicious with quality food and excellent service.

The staff of the event facilities were the most professional people I ever found at hotels and events - Thanks to them our event was perfect, we didn't have to ask for nothing, everything was ok and on time.

The only thing that didn't match the hotel and the service was the valet parking. Those guys were rude, slow, noisy and inattentive, they could use some good training (the kind you get at home).

You get free wifi but it's soooooo sloooooooowwwww specially for youtube streaming,

Well with that said, staying there for 11 nights was a great experience.

Room Tip: Get an upgrade to the executive floor, it's worthed all the way. I noticed they also have a flo...

I am not sure what to make of this hotel - the colours are among the most neon and gaudy I have encountered. My floor and room were neon greed. Other floors were a purple-pink or rusty orange. It is a huge hotel . . . and I did wonder how the owners managed to get planning permission to build such a high building in a low-level, suburban neighbourhood. It does stand out; the advantage is, I suppose, that it is not easy to get lost, as this high hotel can be spotted from a distance. I liked the location, in that it was easy to walk to a large plaza and restaurant district; the city centre is a taxi-ride away. The restaurant for breakfast is huge, and reminded me of those large restaurants associated with all-inclusive budget holiday hotels .... but the food was good and it was easy to find quieter spots on the balcony. I have mixed feelings on this hotel, and would likely opt for a smaller hotel if I had a choice, but there is nothing really wrong with it.
