I just came back from Guadalajara and we decided to take this tour because we had heard it was fun and different.
We rode in the vagon bar, which is the best one (JC05). If you can, choose this one. Beware that to reserve a spot in this one, you have to call the call center. It will not appear in their website! We learned this too late but were lucky to find 2 empty spots right before boarding and we made the upgrade. Being in 05 (vagon bar) means to get on and off first, eat first, do the tour first, etc besides having better tequila onboard, having the nicest train car, and overall better attention.
The train is nicely decorated, comfortable, and fun. The ride is 2 hours, but it will fly by. All the waiters are suuuper nice and willing to give you anything you want. The tequila tasting is done on the train on your way there, and it is fun and informative. Also, they give you mexican starters for you to munch on before arriving to Tequila. Special thanks to Christian (the expert tequilero who explained everything and was the host of the events) and Gladys (our tour guide for train car #05) for their dedication, helpfulness, and smiles! Employees like that really make the experience. Gracias a todos!
At the hacienda, the buffet is delicious (made by the restaurant Santo Coyote), the Mexican ballet group puts on an amazing show. The actual tour of the plant is short, but you see everything you need to see and learn what you need to learn. Visiting the Reserva de la Familia cava was especially cool.
Great experience, and it is nice to have everything planned out and organized for you to simply enjoy. Carefree, hassle-free, and super fun. I would definitely recommend it. Also, they are SUPER punctual! do not arrive late to the station.
