“Saw it in a recent film . . . . . .”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

Had not been in a while to this iconic Mexican Restaurant. Was reminded of this seeing an American film, Gringo Mariachi. If you know Guadalajara, this movie takes you to some of your favorite places.
Its a great place to eat, don't be in a hurry, but today the service was terrible. The waiter had to be the owner's son or he'd be unemployed.
Still, must eat here when visiting. It is a local hangout, not a tourist trap.

Reviewed 27 March 2014 via mobile

I was headed to the restaurant and then I stopped by another shop and was told that the restaurant was no good so he recommended another one. So I went and they were sold out of there birrieria for the day and ended up going to this restaurant he recommended me not to go to so he was right it wasn't the greatest.

“Very tasty”
Reviewed 18 March 2014 via mobile

I went to eat my lunch just right before leaving Guadalajara. It was the best decision I made. I left Guadalajara after having the best barbaboca!! The owner was very helpful and gave me some free soup. This type of service make the different between a good restaurant and an excellent one.

“Yes birria/goat is delicious”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

Touristy place, that is frequented by the locals (always a good sign for us) beer was cold, tortillas fresh and the carne hot and flavorful. The Olympics were on the TV, which was a good thing, too!

“Best of the birrierias - Slow cooked lamb and pork stews.”
Reviewed 6 February 2014

Directly giving onto a charming colonial plaza, this restaurant has authentic Mexican decor and serves two main dishes: pork and lamb stews that are seasoned and slow cooked i.e. "birrieria". Reasonably priced and fairly copious portions.
