Extremely well located at Guanajuato historic downtown, in front of the Teatro Juarez and Main Square. You can go everywhere by walk, plenty of restaurants and bars.
It has an original wing, the frontal, and a new one by the sides. The rooms on the new wing are comfortable, but not too spacious, and a little hot to the season; someones has very delicate furniture that shows a little charm.
The breakfast is included on the fare and is good, with a menu to choose your option.
The restaurant is right at the front, well attended.
WiFi available, no safe at the room. Staff helpful.
Be aware that the web page offers a welcome cocktail, but is no longer available since "two years"; so, what do they wait to actualize that page???
A good place to stay at that city, fare prices with 10% discounts on cash pays.

Room Tip: I think that the front rooms are better than the inner ones, because they are the original building...

Thought I would take a chance on this restaurant in Union Square and was presently surprised. The starter was an excellent margarita then a mixed salad and pasta. I thought that the prices were fair given the location. Lots going on from music to vendors selling blankets etc.

We really liked this place. We say outdoors in their enclosed seating area and watched the people strolling nearby. We lived it a lot more than Valadez nearby.
The waiter did not hover but was always accessible. They separate out their meal seating area from the beer/coffee crowd who want to watch soccer on the big screens outside. Very thoughtful. We absolutely live to watch soccer but not while eating or reading our books. They thought if everything.
All their water is purified so you can order salads, drink iced drinks etc. interior Mexico (well the tourist places anyway) have come a long way since the 1970s!!!

Four of us ate there last week, as others say the location is fantastic. We liked the food, there is a good selection and though not totally haut cuisine, its well prepared and enjoyable. The service was excellent and friendly. Compared to the Santa Fe, which I reviewed recently, this was paradise. I would recommend it if you want to eat in the Jardin de la Union.

Room Tip: We only went to the restaurant, so I cannot comment on the hotel or staying there.

Bad service, and the owner dose not care, he's never there and there is no general manager, so employer do what they want.
A lot of noise from outside.

Room Tip: Go near jardin union but not there to noisy.

While you can't beat the location of this hotel, I'll not stay here again for a few reasons. The bedding and towels were of poor quality and threadbare but the bed itself was comfrotable. The service at breakfast is amazingly slow and unfriendly. Cocktails at the bar in the evening were quite tasty with good service, though, and the location is perfect. The view from our room and small terrace was amazing but the bathroom was so small you could hardly turn around. The floors had a fair amount of dust so cleaning should have been better. Being in a room right above the bar brought lots of music and street noise in the evening but the bed was comfortable and we just fell asleep to all the outside music. Overall, I think there are better choices of places to stay in the vicinity.

I've stayed at this hotel twice. This most recent time was in room 5, with a balcony.

Room 5 was nice, although a little small. Standing on the balcony is heaven, all day and until you want to go to sleep. And there's the downside- sun- thurs, it's very loud until 12:30 or 1 am. Friday and Saturday it's very loud until 2 or even 2:30.

The other time I stayed here it was in an interior room. A window to the stairwell for light, but obviously no view. And zero noise at night!

So here's the thing- just do not stay in a balcony room if you can't sleep with it loud. It's no use to complain about it. If you plan to stay out late, it won't bother you. And of course the interior rooms are not as nice, but they are a good option if you want to be right in the middle of the action, and still go to sleep reasonably early.
