Amazing little café with a few tables with internet access very quant and charming. We met the owner of the café a young man who was very knowledgeable about coffee. What a relief to have a good coffee after weeks of bad coffee in America. Highly recommended from a coffee snob.

Cafe tal is a very small but charming cafe around a little corner. They offer really good quality cafe and breakfast. The cappuccino and croissant I ordered are really nice. Simon is very friendly and helpful. However, the old lady looks very serious and not happy to welcome customers. In general, I like the place very much. Very peaceful and charming.

We adored this slightly hidden away gem. The Mexican chocolate espresso was incredible. Very cool vibe in this independent coffee house.

Cafe Tal is what Mexico coffee is all about. The quality and the flavor of the coffee is the best because the owner sees to it personally. If you do Mexico very often you know that the scruffy little hole in the wall establishments will offer the best surprises! Cafe Tal is inhabited by locals, plus students, expats, snowbirds for a reason. The other reviewers in this category are exactly right-on about the delicious drinks. I won't repeat. But this is MX after all, and if you're put off by the ambiance, oh well. The street construction is a rare enough occurrence and will be beautiful once completed. Trivia: Tal is the name of the cat. Greg, the owner, was born and raised in Tucson, AZ, so he does speak pretty good English. And I think I bought the last loaf of that fabulous braided sweet bread, enpiernada. Sorry about that.

I went here 3 times in my 4 day stay. Coffee, hot cocoa, and frappacino were excellent. Clearly high quality coffee beans, and cocoa. You can order different grades of hot chocolate, kind of like espresso shots, light, and dark coffee but in cocoa.
The mocha frap was great because it tasted like dark chocolate. Sort of dark chocolate equivalent of a Starbucks mocha frap, nice consistency, better flavor.
I talked to the owner for a little while. He lived in the US for several years and spoke flawless english. He roasts 10-30 kilos of beans a day. The green beans are from the state of Veracruz.

If you are looking for a nice sit down place with a great view this isn't it. It is a little rustic. Where you order has only a couple of tables, but across the alley are more tables and an upstairs area. Currently road construction outside.
