-Amazing interior and courtyard. As you drive by the front entrance does not do it justice. It is not until you go inside, see the courtyard and various passage ways that you can truly appreciate the hotel. Almost a microcosm of Guanajuato and how it's laid out.
-Great price, location, accommodations and hotel staff!
-Parking is not on hotel grounds, but is o.k. since you won't need a car in the town and really don't want to drive around in it.

Room Tip: -no elevators so if you aren't in to walking or would have much luggage pick one on lower floor...

I just stayed for one night in this beautiful hotel. I stayed with my family in a two bedroom suite. It had a very nice bathroom, free coffee and a charming interior design. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is very good...in the city centre, but still quiet. So it's the perfect place to discover the small streets of Guanajuato.

We had a wedding at the Meson de los Poetas. Overall the wedding was great and so was our stay in the hotel. We had about 7 rooms for out of town guests. This hotel is very charming, it's a maze of stairs and hallways which is just like Guanajuato. The service from everyone at the hotel was great, they were very accommodating of all requests. My only room complaint is that in a couple rooms the water took a long time to get hot. The breakfast was good, the entrees changed daily. It was nice to sit in the patio and enjoy breakfast, even though it's a covered area it has an outside feel because of the high ceilings and tree growing through the hotel.
The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring the town. You can walk everywhere, and are just steps away from Plaza de la Paz and Jardin de la Union. They also have a terrace at the top of the hotel which was a nice place to sit and enjoy the view.

Room Tip: There are a couple of rooms (i think mainly suites) that face the street, these can be noisy, althou...

This is a very beautiful hotel with an outstanding service. The double room I stayed in had free coffee and tea, a very nice bathroom with good amenities and charming furniture. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The location is ideal, very close to the market, to Diego Rivera's house and to some of the most beautiful churches of Guanajuato. Internet worked fine and breakfast was delicious... a lovely time

Don't be fooled by the exterior!........El Meson de Los Poetas is a gem of a hotel in a great location. The creators have used some beautiful touches in putting together this architecturally spectacular property. Beautiful patios, elegant furnishings, friendly and helpful staff together with a great location and affordable prices make this hotel well worth checking out. The only downside, for some folks, is that there are no elevators and getting to some of the rooms may leave you breathless - so to speak! There can be anywhere from 20 to 60 steps to climb depending upon which floor you are on - you might want to check that out first. Apart from that little hiccup - a truly delightful hotel!

Room Tip: Check which floor you are on and how many stairs to it. Suites Walt Whitman and Jose Marti (200C and...

Recently my family & friends stayed here per the recommendation of our Toronto friends, the room we stayed in was the Suite 103 Federico Garcia Lorca. It was spacious very clean with 2 bedrooms accommodates 4 people. The Hotel is very Colonial I love the maze of stairs, landscaping and Poets names on each room and the interior design of the hotel.. This hotel is NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE due to the amount of stairs involved but Its close to everything and there is no noise so we all slept very well. Breakfast was buffet style and is included in the room rate and is very good. All the staff is extremely helpful and go out of your way to assist you.. we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Hotel is undergoing renovations so its best to get an inside room as oppose to a outside one overloo...

Very cute and clean hotel in the center of Guanajuato-but not so close that the festivities at the Jardin Union will disturb. My family rented a number of rooms and they were all great. The decor and atmosphere are very mexican. The breakfast room is beautiful and the breakfast (included) was good. Do be aware that there is no elevator and lots of stairs- it is hilly Guanajuato after all. The staff is very nice and they speak enough english. For the price I don't think I've stayed in a better hotel.
