Description: It is a place to enjoy good Mexican cuisine and a great variety of drinks including various styles of coffees. We are located in the heart of Guanajuato (Jardín Unión-frente al teatro Juarez).

I didn't expect much going in. The place is located right outside the Teatro Juarez in Central. Lovely location and beautiful patio. The food is overpriced of course due to the location but the quality of food and service is super bad. I ordered empanadas that were inedible and exchanged it for a tuna sandwich that was just barely edible. Somehow they they flew by my expectations of bad right into the realm of yuck, ick, terrible. Wouldn't recommend.

We arrived late to GTO so we were starved and picked the first place we saw. The arrachera steak was horrible. The chorizo ok and French fries good. To make things worse there was a table of drunk people next to us and a live mariachi band who was loud and out of key. Not the restaurants fault but given the really bad food it was a really horrible experience.

I'm not really sure how it went down, but between the loud mariachi music coming from the next restaurant and the taste of my over cooked and under sized sirloin... VanGogh bar and restaurant became the worst restaurant I've been in Mexico.
My friends felt adventurous and decided to try "tostadas de marlin" , "suprema rellena" and the other one opted for a rib eye stake.
The worst choice of the night was BY FAR the marlin.
Friskies never looked better served on a plate. Bitter, hard, and just plain awful was what that fish tasted like. The rib eye stake was just bland and the stuffed chiken lacked a wow factor. None of the plates had a side dish... Which in this occasion would have been a great improvement.
So... To end this long and sad review... Do yourself a favor... Pick another place.

This restaurant is very nicely located in a corner of Jardin Union, in front of Teatro Juarez. Contrary to the other restaurants in this square, it seems to be mainly haunted by locals. There is live music every night, however, the quality is not always commendable. Food was just standard - huge servings however. Good if you go for the quantity.
