I chose this facility based on Tripadvisor reviews as I wanted a reasonably priced suite room close to Zocalo. Me and my family stayed for 6 nights. The room did have a musty smell, but otherwise was spacious and nice. The reception and housekeeping were great.Breakfast every morning was indeed a bonus. The hotel is in a crowded area and can be an issue for light sleepers. The location is just perfect otherwise, as you can walk to most of the historic locations. Metro station is also closeby. All in all would strongly recommend this place. Try to get a room on one of the upper floors.

Room Tip: Higher floors may have less noise

This is a gret place to stay if you want to be in the heart of it all. Good digs, food okay, everything you need. The staff are very helpful, particularly Martin, the concierge, who helped with almost everything in our daily planning.

Short stay in this well located (city center, 300 meters from the Zocallo), clean and pleasant hotel.
Very courteous and helpful staff.
Comfortable and quiet (opening on a patio) room.
Good and hearty breakfast.
Will stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for one opening on the patio

This hotel is almost perfect if you're visiting Mexico City.
It's right by the Zocalo and its sights, and not too far away (relatively speaking) from most of what Mexico City has to offer. There's also plenty of restaurants around.
Breakfast and in-the-room Wifi are both free (or included, depending on how you look at it) and quite convenient. Breakfast is really good and the Wifi is a little bit touch and go, but mostly works once you get the password from the front desk and are patient enough to let it connect!
Let's not forget the hotel staff. They're wonderful! Concierge, front-desk, you name it, they all are helpful and quite conversant in English. Kudos to the hotel management for such a great place!

The Hampton Inn and Suites was everything we wanted and more. It is in a lovely historic building, and it's quiet despite being on a busy street. Two modern, glass-enclosed elevators take you to small but fully-equipped rooms. The rooms have everything from coffee maker, to hair dryer, to ironing board and iron, to shower with plenty of hot water (sorry no bath tub), and a safe large enough to hold a large purse, camera bag, etc. After a long day of site-seeing, the mattress was like sleeping on a cloud. Did I mention large screen TV that broadcasts ESPN?

Breakfast is included in the room rate and is a fairly substantial buffet from make your own waffles to fruits, juices, yogurts, breads and pastries, and hot chafing dish selections that vary by day (eggs, meats, etc.)

The front desk staff (ask them for a local map pamphlet and the small "Travellers Guide to Mexico City") is excellent as is their command of English. The lobby has 24-hour complimentary coffee and tea, free wi-fi, computer/cell phone plug-in stations, and some comfortable seating. A private security person tends the front entrance, which is flanked by a seafood restaurant on one side and a restaurant/coffee shop on the other side.

Walk out the front door, turn right, and less than three blocks later you are at the Zocalo, the Turibus, the National Cathedral, Templo Mayor (with its own great museum), and National Palace.

We frequently visit Mexico and this one is a definite keeper!

Room Tip: Ask for and inside room on the atrium.

Great hotel, location was perfect on the main square of the city. Has 2 great restaurants and a continental breakfast included in the price, well worth the money. A bit noisy but it was full when we were there.

My husband and I stayed there for 4 days on the beginning of dec 2012....the hotel is gorgeous, the staff is and professional. Anything we needed they would assist us without hesitation. Hotel offers free wifi and also a business center. The location is just a few blocks from el zocalo, it's located in a nice area so being our first time in mexico city, we felt very safe. Whenever we needed a tour guide or a taxi, the concierge was quick and friendly to set it up. The rooms are spacious and the beds are plush yet firm, so i loved it. would definitely stay here again.
