I have been in this hotel so many times at I am never disapointed. Very good value for the money, perfect location near the Zocalo, good service and a wonderful breakfast makes this hotel one of my favorites. The rooms are nice, clean and everything works fine. The sieze of the rooms and bathrooms are good and you feel very much like home. My best recommendations.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 8 days and loved it. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The location was perfect. The room was very clean. The complimentary breakfast was always good.

The stay was perfect from arrival to departure...We were within 15 minutes walk to the Zocalo around which the metropolitan cathedral and national palace and other relevant historical sights and tons of authentic mexican restaurants. Also, we could easily take the bus to the market places if we were not up for a walk. The cops are present at every corner and rather than holding up our fun, they made us feel pretty secure.
To get to the top sights in other districts - frida kahlo museum(coyocan) and to national anthropology museum (polanco), it would have involved at least 2 trains. While the route is easy, if u chose the wrong time, you would end up in a jam packed suffocating train ride and sometimes get pushed out in a wave of people if u are not careful. So, we used both options - cab and train.
We used the staff to help us out as concierges, taking messages for missed baggage and providing us safe cabs. Every staff member was so patient and helpful and very hospitable. You cant ask for more!!

Stayed here with points from Hilton. The Hotel was very nice. A nicely restored 200 year old convent right off the Zocalo in the old part of Mexico City. The staff was very helpful, and local recommendations were good. I have been married to a Mexican for 20 years, so was not looking for the "Tourist" places to eat, and they delivered.
The breakfast was wonderful. It had all the standard Hampton Inn American items, but also had wonderful local food as well (Fresh fruit! Carnitos, Mole, etc) . Both my Mexican spouse and I were impressed at the diversity of the food as well as the quality. Better than any breakfast I have ever see at a Hampton in the USA.
They have a nice rooftop area to sit and look out over the Centro Historico. Buy some beer and sit there and relax.
My only complaint about this hotel was the room. We did book on points. The room was nice but very small. The issue for me was that there was no window. Small, dark, clean, modern but dark.
Other that that I would recommend the hotel as a safe, convenient place to stay in Mexico City. Just be sure that you do not receive one of the dark small rooms with no windows.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get the 5th floor rooms with no windows.

The location is good for those wishing to explore the historic downtown and Zocalo. The hotel is comfortable enough (small bathrooms but decent walk in showers) but the walls are paper thin. I heard conversations in the hallway at random times in the middle of the night and early morning, and even more during normal working hours when I was still trying to rest and relax. One night, there were kids yelling in the lobby area 4 floors below at 2 am, and it sounded like they were in my room. So, while the atrium is attractive, beware: the noise carries through the whole hotel. I would suggest staying elsewhere. Depending on the dates, the Hilton Mexico City is not much more expensive but so much nicer and quieter. And relatively close.

The only negative feature was the breakfast, always the same and badely cooked. They must improve even if the price increases... Also the use of the term "free" breakfast is rather insulting since you pay it anyaway but denied the right of some quality.

I checked in to find that the room I had booked through booking.com (‘Queen room with view’) ‘does not exist’ and I’d been allocated an inside view room on the 2nd floor. I had requested a high floor and a bath, as these were both options with booking.com, but apparently baths are only available in the suites. Eventually a Queen room with an exterior window was found. Please check your room configuration before you arrive or they will hold you to payment for the first night regardless of whether or not the room configuration you booked exists or not.
Apart from that rather unpromising start my stay was comfortable and efficient. Breakfast is not exactly leisurely, be prepared to share a table, but it’s included in the price and offers plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals and scrambled eggs plus all the usual bakery products.
‘The Queen Room with view that doesn’t exist’ was actually very good for the money – at the back of the hotel, so nice and quiet, on the 4th floor, a bit small but very nicely furnished, very clean, comfortable bed and good shower room, loads of hot water, room safe, TV, iron and ironing board etc.
The guest laundry on the 5th floor has 2 washing machines and 2 tumble dryers, you just need to buy washing powder from a local shop.
The staff are lovely, and the concierge is very helpful regarding places to visit and transport options. He persuaded me to try the metro to Chapultepec, it was so easy and cost a princely 5 pesos each way, so he saved me a fortune on taxi fares.
The two restaurants attached to the hotel at the entrance are not part of the hotel so you cannot charge to your room. Avoid Fisher’s (see separate review), it’s awful. I had room service from Garabato’s twice and the food was very good, simple sandwiches and salads.
The hotel is a short walk from the Zocalo and I spent a day on foot in the Centro Historico followed by a day in Chapultepec to see two of the museums there. Be prepared for lots of walking in both areas.

Room Tip: Confirm with the hotel exactly what you will be getting. Room 420 is small but quiet and has an exte...
