This hotel is the benchmark for what superb luxury is and against which all other St Regis hotels will be measured. The location on Paseo de la Reforma, one of the most beautiful streets in the world built by the Emperor Maximilian as a love token to his wife Carlota, in front of the Diana Fountain sets the tone. You will rarely find such a perfectly designed lobby with it's bars and restaurants. Do not expect the dowdy, aged elegance of other St Regis hotels in the rooms. Here the furnishings are 21st century and luxurious. The health club and spa facilities could not be better than the incredible views of the vast city below you. On this trip we did not go exploring the many fine restaurants Mexico City offers, Why? Because this hotel must have the best chefs in Mexico working their kitchens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We could not find fault with the extraordinary and attentive service to complement the excellent food. Finally a word on overall service, from the doorman, front desk, restaurants and butlers, you won't find better. The only problem was that after a week stay we did not want to leave.

Thank you so much for your response. The St. Regis was seduced by Reforma Avenue and its mythic address. Thinking that our guests would feel captivated by the experience of our location, The St. Regis Mexico City is glad to read you appreciate it. Please allow us to welcome you back in the future, it will be a privilege.

This Regis Hotel was wonderful all around. The view from the exercise facility was breathtaking and the guacamole at the Diana Restaurant was one of the best in the city.

My wife and I have enjoyed the quality of amenity and bespoke service at many of the St Regis hotels including Washington, Bali and Singapore and our recent stay at St Regis in Mexico City only served to reinforce our deep affection for the brand.

On our most recent trip to North America, we found ourselves invariably disappointed with many of the other SPG hotels including the Westin Times Square, the W New York Lexington Avenue, Sheraton Santa Monica and Le Centre Sheraton Montreal and it was thoroughly refreshing to return to St Regis in Mexico City.

On every test the hotel exceeds your expectations and of most interest to us was the clear sincere endeavours by the General Manager to greet you often throughout the stay and express genuine interest in your comfort. The hotel staff reflect constantly this care for you.

Particularly impressive to us was the greetings on arrival.

As a platinum member of SPG for many years an upgrade is often offered where possible however we arrived at the hotel at 7.00am and were offered the choice immediately of a non upgraded room without charge or an upgrade with a short delay.

Treat yourself to this fabulous hotel and I dare you to be disappointed!

Room Tip: higher levels of the hotel assure you of the best views of La Reforma

I've been twice at the St. Regis Mexico City and I experience the best butler service ever.
They are really there to pamper you and to satisfy your every needs.
They also handle a small problem with the room location in excellent way.
There's no better place to stay in Mexico City and the whole experience will be unforgettable: the food, the rooms, the location. all is perfect and set for your trip, be it leisure or business.
Also the restaurant service and attention to the guest is top notch.
Don't miss the chance to spend a few nights there if you pass by the "Distrito Federal".

I stayed here for two days (Saturday and Sunday) in late July 2011. I had a Business Suite with a corner view. This hotel is absolutely out of this world. It is truly a 5 star, world class hotel. Everything about it is world class.

From the moment you step out onto the pavement you are treated like a king or queen. I was having trouble arranging transportation to the hotel from where I was staying in Mexico City (a private school) and so the hotel sent a car and driver to pick me up. It was a wonderful service and driver.

Next, the concierge arranged a early check in and as soon as I arrived at the hotel, the doorman knew my name and escorted me to the elevator in the lobby. When I got to the 3rd floor, I was immediately greeted by name and escorted to the registration desk. The concierge came over and also greeted me. All of my bags (and there were a lot of them!) were loaded and pushed to the side. The registration process was flawless.

I was then taken to my room. Within moments my "butler" arrived to give me a guided tour of the room! What a room! The shower turned into a sauna at the press of a button. It also had this wonderful rainfall/forest effect or the regular shower head. You spend the whole weekend just in the bathroom. Plus there was a huge tub and two sinks and the lighting system for the entire suite was controlled by the bedside through this marvelous computer system that also controlled music, t.v., wake up calls, butler calls, room service and any number of other things as well.

The temperature controls were marvelous, the views were fantastic.

Downstairs, if you managed to leave the room, the bar was wonderful. They had tremendous drink offerings. The dining room was wonderful. The continental breakfast was far from continental: even though there was no "hot" foods the offerings were enough to fill you up for quite a while: smoked salmon and cream cheese, other cheese offerings, many different breads, etc.

I had dinner there too and had some of the more interesting offerings: a mix of duck pate and seasonings; a duck breast with a 'molle' sauce; a wonderful dessert; and the wine and drink offerings were splendid as well, even by the glass!

The pool on the 15th floor was like one of those "infinity pools" where you can swim up to the window and look out over the entire downtown plus there were two spas.

My travel agent was able to get a special deal for me and this included a complimentary $ 85 food and wine credit.

Everyone was nice, polite, helpful, friendly and went out of their way to be kind. When I had a incident with the taxi service the hotel recommended to me and I got taken for a ride all over town, the hotel made up for it by granting me free drinks on the house in the bar that evening. I thought that was very generous of the hotel.

So in all this IS the place to stay in downtown. I looked at the other hotels when I was walking around and they pale in comparison. Stay here! You'll love it.
