“Love this hotel”
Reviewed 4 January 2012

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed! Stayed with my husband and two teenage boys before Christmas. The rooms are quiet and tastefully decorated. The staff was extremely helpful and always greeted us by name. Wish we were going back to Mexico City in the near future. My only negative comment is there is a charge for internet access. It should be included in a hotel of this caliber.

Veuve Clicquot and a warm reception leads you to believe you are in for something special. Our butler met us in our beautiful room and explained the amenities. Great! Unfortunately, all that was good ended there. The only restaurant in the hotel was closed so breakfast was in the bar. The service staff were the epitome of disorganization. We were seated at a table that had been cleared from the last guests but not cleaned or set up for new guests. Food was fine. Every time you ask for a cab, the hotel calls one of their own drivers and they charge you a healthy premium above regular taxis. We asked to be taken to a well known local restaurant. I provided the driver with an address and the cross streets. He did not know where he was going and finally dropped us at the curb, pointing down a street and telling us we would find it as we walked down the block. Wrong street-not even that close. It took us 30 minutes on foot in our dinner clothing to locate the restaurant after having to ask multiple persons for directions. We don't speak Spanish, so it was an especially unwelcomed challenge as we got later and later for our dinner reservation. We were 30 minutes late, having left our hotel 20 minutes before the reservation for what should have been about a 10 minute drive. I could go on and on with examples.

Dear Mr. David,

We are very sorry we did not offer a bespoke service as expected from a St. Regis. We are really concerned and we would appreciate the opportunity to speak directly to you. I kindly ask you to send us your name and telephone number to my email, carlos.fajer@stregis.com.
Allow us to turn this disappointment into a relationship with you.

Absolutely beautiful. You can't ask for a better location than the St. Regis Mexico City. I spent four nights and didn't want to go back home.

I was there the weekend before Christmas and perhaps my only comment is that I expected more Christmas decorations than what I experienced.

Overall, the hotel is just amazing. Every member of the staff is always very helpful.

Far and away the most luxurious hotel I've stayed at and I have stayed many places. Few rooms are actually comfortable to hang out in and this was one of them. It was quiet and, at night, dark which is critical for me. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The whole butler thing is a bit odd to me but he did come in handy. Would love to stay there again.

My first trip to Mexico City, and as a Platinum SPG Member, I had a choice of several Starwood hotels. The St. Regis had a reasonable rate, was centrally located, was surrounded by restaurants, and was a charm. Easy, pleasant check-in with champagne. Everyone spoke English. Suite was large and had good views. Breakfast room was superb, including buffet. Seating outside was optional. Bar was excellent as well. Very safe. Hotel arranged many taxis for me which was convenient. Bottled water was regularly offered.

I look forward to returning.

If you have the opportunity treat yourself to the Butler serviced rooms but if you can't this hotel will still offer you a great retreat from the hustle and bustle of this great city.

The St. Regis took care of us. From the door staff to the Butler. The room gave us stunning views of the city, and all of the comforts and privacy that we enjoy when we travel. Room service was impeccable, the food perfection. The "Rayhees" will always be a home to my partner and I when traveling to or through Mexico City.
