This is a beautiful hotel, and perfectly maintained, including all new carpets, and luxury bedding in my room. The legacy of the old Hotel Nikko days is a very good Japanese restaurant on the ground floor, if you want a change from Mexican food. There was also quite a nice exhibit of contemporary Mexican painting and sculpture which filled the lobby areas on 3 floors.
I am happy to say that the Chapultepec Park area seems to have totally recovered from fear of crime. We walked throughout the park which was filled with young couples pushing high-end baby strollers, lots of young people, and some foreign tourists. The day was sunny, and there were several native dance and acrobatic groups performing. And the National Museum of Anthropology continues to be one of the best museums in the world!
