You'll LOVE this blue casa......we were so looking forward to this museum...and it didn't disappoint. You tour thru the house, there is an additional exhibit on of her, undergarments (supports for her back), dresses, and hair 'decorations', there is a gift shop also. I bought the ticket that allowed me to take photos (no flash). You see her and Diego's bedrooms, their art supplies, etc...... The gardens are lovely and cool. Read 'The Lacuna', a super book that fits in so well with Frida and Diego's home.

Having read Frida's biography and seen the movie of her life I was well prepared to enjoy the visit to her house. And I was not disappointed. The Museum is well kept and interesting in very way as you don't just see some of her works but the kind of life she led in that house defying all her health and medical problems.

If you love her work this place is wonderful. If you don't know much about her then visit and learn. The house itself is in original condition and the gardens are a breath of fresh air.

This was Frida Kahlo's home as well as her studio. It's where she lived her life and a visit really brings one closer to her as an artist but also as a person. The incredible pain she suffered from her accident and her subsequent heartbreak with Diego Rivera, though they were together for many years gives one hope that we can persevere through adversity. The museum is closed on Monday and with purchase of a ticket you also gain access to the Diego Rivera Anahuacalli museum a short cab ride away. Plan to spend a few hours and purchase an extra photographer permit. You can take a cab for a few hundred pesos or take the metro to Coyoacan metro and then cab from there; or you can walk from the metro station. There are nice coffee shops that offer "tortas" - a true Mexico City treat.

If you are interested in either Frida or Diego´s art work, life, or if you have seen the Salma Hayek movie, spending a short 60-90 minute visit to their home is a must!!!

Cheap, pictures allowed, nice place to learn and understand more about their environment. Much better than the museum itself.
