Owner description: Coyoacan, a former village and now one of the 16 boroughs of Mexico City, is a historic center. It is a popular place to visit, especially on weekends, because many of the original layouts, plazas and narrow streets have been preserved and date from the 16th to the early 20th centuries.

“Very nice town and restaurants.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

Coyoacan is very nice and has a lot of places to eat and for every budget. You can take the metro which will leave you right next to a taxi station which will charge you around US$4 to take you to the main plaza. Frida Khalo's museum is near the plaza.

“A Meeting of Cultures.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

There is an open spacious feeling about Coyoacan. While we were there a group of dancers and musicians headed over the square just adding to the atmosphere created by the colourful streets and vendors. You need about an hour to absorb the street life but allow yourself even longer if you want to browse the arts and crafts available.

“A walking tour -centuries past”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

There are lots of wonderful streets in the center of Coyoacán, México´s answer to Greenwich Village, in New York and Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For example, the street Francisco Sosa is a lovely old passage of 16th and 17th century houses where you can still see cement hooks for tying your horse. Belisario Dominguez sports a tree growing right in the middle. THe houses are gracias, enormous and very very old. Presidente Caranza boasts 19th century homes with garages added. This is a serious problem with old houses since cars had not been invented. Eat your dinner at Las Conchitas, a well known spot for all of the inhabitants of Coyoacán who consider themselves to be a very special species. A must is coffee at El Jarocho. If you like to imagine your life as a 16th - 19th century person, Coyoacán is for you.

“great place to experience Mexico's city south”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

Coyoacán is a must destination for people visiting Mexico city. An afternoon in this place can range from a nice family walk followed by an Ice cream or a cotton-candy, a romantic couple meal with live Music, or getting your hands on arts and crafts that can be done by yourself or just bought at the "mercado de artesanías".

“Lovely plaza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

Home of Frida Kahnlo and a gorgeous church , Coyacan is where Mexicans hang at the week end. Lots of room to stroll and enjoy the cool of the evening and convenient taxis segura to get back to your hotel.
