As a wannabe anthropologist it was like a dream come true-wow. The quality of pre-Hispanic sculpture rivals the Greek and Romans. Plan on spending at least 4 hours

I can't believe that I almost skipped this museum. It ended up being one of my favorites. Even the architecture of the building is enjoyable. It's a must see!

This was my third visit, and I'll be back. We only spent three hours because we were pressed for time, but you can easily spend a full day, all depending on your level of interest. The location affords you the opportunity to spend 2 - 3 days exploring other sights such as the park, museums, fancy hotels and of course Reforma. It's a great respite from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

I am an anthropologist and this museum was fantastic. We spent 5 hours and it still wasn't enough. The bottom floors are physical and archeology and the upper floors ethnography. The material is all up to date with some of the most recent findings on display. The material history of Central America is genuinely fantastic. Do not miss.

We went here due to the reviews on TA and because of its status as number 1 attraction and were distinctly underwhelmed.

We wanted to experience some of the history of Mexico but have to say, if you live in Europe, we think you will be similarly disappointed by this museum.

We don't mean to offend, but honestly, we only stayed about an hour as the whole experience was so 'dry', not interesting for us and we were very disappointed.

It is factual of course, and the surroundings are amazing in the park, but don't feel as if you must go here - we certainly don't feel enriched by our experience there.
