“Good hotel if you are on a budget”
Reviewed 22 April 2012

I like this hotel and have been back seveal times. I offen have to go to Mexico City on business and this is where I stay. They let you check in at 8 am. The breckfest is not very good and the internet is only good when you are near the lifts. It is somewhat clean. The TV is very small. The location is good, it is one block off of one of the main streets in Mexico City. The street it is on is a little shady, but most of Mexico City is that way. Be careful.

as you cans ee in my reviews i am really picky and discerning but this place was really a pleasant surprised. i expected the worst and got maybe not the best but something really good. i booked over despegar.com and got a great price, like 47 us with breakfast. the hotel is kind of 80s and not the most modern but rooms are huuugeeeeeeeee, come with free bottled water and bifg beds and... gorgeous view over mexico city. the best thing is the location. you just take the metro from benito juarez airport to hidalgo and ploppp there is the hotel. just a 20 min ride for 3 pesos !!! (30 cents),the staff is really and not artificially friendly. something i havent even seen in 600bucks per night hotels in los angeles or nyc. they are respectful and smiles are genuine. breakfast is just abundant....so bountiful. typical mexican.you can have everything from cake to complete meals ,all included in the room. enchiladas, crepes, meat, sincronizadas, tacos name it...the make it. again.respectful and well educated staff.american hotels could learn from this, really ! only 3 flaws: internet on floor 11 doesnt ever work and water was missing 2x. not funny but they tried at least to fix it. and number 3:they have a jacuzzi on the roof top but it was closed because of re arranging their artifcial lawn :)without this an excellent choice.
ahhh about the location, you can walk to zocalo, the antique main square in 10 minutes (or take a train) and as well to chapultepec castle (a must !!!! ) in 30 minutes or another train.
great hotel .will be back in september. really !!!!
i love mexico !

Stayed for 4 nights.
Booked on Agoda site, where he was positioned as a 4 *.
In fact - it is so, but ... for the agency, they provide accommodation of lower category, with no air conditioning, mini-refrigerator, hair dryer. Also in this issue there is a very shabby old furniture, old doors, bathroom also has a terrible look, traces of chips, paint sealant, as well as the presence of the fungus and, in general, the room is in need of repair. Number 1712.
I understand that everything is possible and it is $ 27 per night for a double without breakfast (besides, it was early booking), but by fours in this issue, perhaps, only the size and the TV ...
Room size large, comfortable twin beds with good mattresses and pillows. The windows looked out into the yard. Soundproofing the street HORRIBLE! The room was NOT European sockets, and their total was 2, alone in the room, one in the bathroom. But here at the hotel, next to the lobby you can buy an adapter tabakeros for 20 pesos.
There is free wi-fi, but it always falls off.
There are rooms after renovation, the corresponding 4 *.

Stayed here as part of a group tour. It was very convenient for shops and sights and slap bang next to the Metro, but some of our group complained of noisy rooms - don't get one facing the road and heliport opposite. We a had large room, most things worked apart from the heating and staff were friendly, although the reception desk was often very busy and you do need to be able to speak Spanish as no other language seems to be spoken, unusual for a hotel in a capital city. Great breakfasts, lovely fresh omelettes and a good range of Mexican/standard Western fare. If you want a convenient budget hotel, this wouldn't be a bad choice.

Just choose this hotel for: good location , good price, safe, also not far from zocalo about 20 min. walk, but you get what you pay, wi fi internet never works in this place but you can go to any star bucks coffee shop with your laptop, also taxi service twice expensive as normal, this hotel in the list of recommended hotels for Guru Tour travellers

Room Tip: some floors is renovated ask for upgrade

Although most of the staff was friendly, the hotel itself suffers from MANY disadvantages. The place itself is decrepit. The Internet connection barely works - if it works at all. The entire structure is in decay - there wasn't a single floor in the building that wasn't inclined. The carpets were dusty. The menu choices for the "included" breakfast were narrow. The windows don't close fully. The front desk staff is wonderful until you have a problem - then they go into a condescending tone that doesn't waver, even when their mistakes are so obvious even they have to admit them. I know Mexico City originally was a swamp, but they could have done a lot better in maintaining that building.

Be careful when checking out - they will try to sneak charges into the bill like "lost keys" which you returned; use your cameraphone and take a picture of the person receiving them from you, as they might say you "lost" the key and charge you for it.

The electrical outlets are a bit "wobbly", be careful plugging things into them. The air conditioner is noisy - but it helps mask the noise from car horns, police sirens and road work being done right outside the building.

The location is good - a lot of things nearby, and a metro station; still, you should stay away from this place if you can.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that doesn't face the street side. There's a lot of road work, car horns a...

Good location, in the corner is a Metro station which takes you to most atractions. The staff in the hotel was terrible, unfriendly with the exception of the housekeeper. They offer free internet wifi but it never works.
