“Nice basic lodging”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

After a few days in the mountain, it was both chaotic to return to Mexico City and nice to get to a soft bed and hot shower. This hotel is nothing fancy - a bit dated, in fact - but provides safe, clean, friendly lodging. The hotel is walking distanced to some fantastic attractions and restaurants. There is a nearby 7-11. The rooms are reasonably sized. Elevators are tiny, but the stairs are a good option. Overall, this hotel is nothing special, but provides good value.

You can walk to all the historical sites and galleries from here. Nice clean hotel. Will come again. Pleasant helpful staff. 7-11and banks close by. Didn't try the restaurant but there are many places to eat just a short walk away including sanbornes

I stayed at this hotel for a few nights when I was on an organized tour. The rooms were nothing special, but clean and comfortable. No air conditioning, but you can open the window. There is free wifi, but you need to know your floor and side of the building you're on to connect to the best signal. The location was excellent - walking distance to many places - Zocalo, Palacio de Bellas Artes, etc. The front desk was nice, although not overly helpful. The wait staff in the restaurant were very nice and the breakfast buffet was excellent! The price was included in our tour price, so I can't comment on the individual price of the hotel. I would stay here again just for the location and food!

This motel was just fine. Nothing really special, but the picture supplied makes it look
like a dump and it's certainly not. A pic of the lobby would be better. Some rooms don't have windows but it was an overall pleasant stay.

I am on a trip around the world. I booked every hotel in every city based upon Trip Advisor – Hotel Metropol Zocolo, Mexico City is my final stop

The hotel is in an excellent location, walking distance to the Zocolo and large parks. Curiously, this is the first place I have encountered where employees seem annoyed to have guests in their hotel. Perhaps there are management issues? The large room had a bed, a flat screen tv, a work space, and in the bathroom a toilet and a shower. And, of course, you have free access to excellent WiFi. The rooms are quiet and it is easy to get a good nights sleep.

Previous reviewed Hotel – Hotel Intramurous, Manila.

I really liked my stay here, the location is great, the price is ok, and the staff was extremely nice and polite.
The bad... no air conditioner, although I can't put this as a complain because the weather was quite cold when i visited the city but maybe in a different weather it would be a problem.
Besides from that everything was as expected, I would definitely return here on my next trip.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights, and added a fourth so we could spend one more day in MX city. The hotel is just fine. Clean, modern, comfortable beds, potable water spigot in the bathroom, ice in a refrigerated unit in the hall. It's a bit noisy. The window looks out into an air shaft, so there's no view but does have fresh air and has a fan. There's not airconditioning, but that's not usually needed in MX city, since it is at such a high altitude. The staff was friendly enough, and between their English and our Spanish we managed to communicate. The breakfast is a buffet and optional, not included in the room cost. It was good but a bit pricey. We at there once and then ate at a place across the street that was tiny, funky, and very Mexican. The location can't be beat, and neither could the price.
