Camino Real Polanco Mexico
Ranked #70 of 312 Hotels in Mexico City

This is in the Polanco district of Mexico City so nice area but the hotel is on a main road. It can be noisy on the road side rooms and if you are on a wing the hot water was sporadic which they seem to know but don't care about. There are lots of staff but service is not 5* and make sure you use the room safe as some friends had their credit card stolen and their stuff was moved from by the pool when they went for a walk. It has multiple restaurants and we tried Bice the Italian which was nice but ask for reduced salt!

Horrible room that needs a full refresh. The room was very dark, had a damaged front door, the bathroom was in a poor condition, the carpet and the furniture seemed to be very old. The only good aspect was the food, which for me was very good.

I've stayed in this hotel a few times over the past 5 years and every time I tried to like it but I can't. It is not a hotel for a business traveller- if you have suitcases they have to go down the massive stairs without a ramp or an elevator, reception is pretty much always busy and it hasn't been refurbished for a while. Rooms are quite big as well as the bathrooms and you have all the amenities, however if your card is not swiping/opening- the trip to the reception will take forever and it is quite dark in the corridors.
Breakfast is the best thing about Camino Real- the year before the local President came to have breakfast there- it has a great variety of food and quite good service, but that's pretty much it. Accommodation is expensive and is not value for money at all.

this was just awful, had to wear socks in the dirty room, carpet realy was sick. not 5 star as advertized, a 2 star mexican style at best. Never book this airport hotel, you will hate it every second you are there.

Room Tip: Go some where else!!!!

This hotel designed by one of the most recognized Mexican Architects is a landmark for Mexico City Polanco area. Close to the museums and great restaurants is the perfect locations. Rooms need to be updated though, but this hotel has a few excellent restaurants such as Morimoto and Centro Castellano.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that faces the courtyard. Rooms towards the main street can be noisy. The executi...

This property, whilst boasting impressive architecture and a good location, certainly is ill prepared to receive business travelers. I used this property a number of times in the past, but it seems that rigidity and bureaucracy have taken over. My company has deals with several hotels, which mean breakfast and WiFi are generally included. Also, usually hotels do their best to honor the early check-in and late check-out requests I put in due to travel schedules.

Not the Camino Real Polanco. When arriving on a Monday at 10 am, I was informed I would have to wait until 1pm or so before my room would be ready. That's not ideal, specially if you have a business lunch appointment. So I asked to use the gym to shower and change, which they had no problem with. To my big surprise, the gym did not have showers - so perhaps I was expected to make do with a sink in the toilet, I don't know. (And yes, I do speak native-level Spanish).

So I went back to the front desk to insist with my room and Early Check-in, but they claimed no such request had been made (which I confirmed is a lie). Then, in order to be able to make my meeting, I started looking for another hotel (which I got) and requested for them to cancel my stay. Here, they initially had the nerve to ask me to pay for the first night, but finally someone with a shred of remaining common sense waived that, which is the only reason the hotel did not get the rock-bottom rating from me.

Anyway, this hotel is not set up for the business traveler - they probably get enough revenue from tourists which have less of a problem waiting for their room in the lobby for a few hours. Judging from other comments there are several other issues with the rooms and nickel-and-diming which make a stay here a bit of a hassle.

Been here for the week and its been a good one thus far. No time for vacation all business, so breakfast service is important to me. Buffet service was good, fresh, and good turnover. Wait staff very attentive and timely. A great way to start the day. Rooms were nice size and comfortable. Of course being out late as such tends to clouds one's judgement; but the beds were to my liking with a bit of firmness and cushy. Slept well each night. Downside is parking, lack there of for a reasonable price. Garage parking was availalbe but it will cost you. What are you going to do, you're in Mexico City so you know all space is at a premium. This is a good hotel, and will stay here again on next trip.
