This hotel is in the Zona Rosa area which is near the British and America
Embassy. We used the Metro (5 pesos)to reach the hotel and a Taxi back to the airport for $20dollars. Jose was working when we arrived and showed us to our room which was very spacious, neat, clean and everyday we received bottles of water. We used the patios for morning breakfast as well as relaxing durning the day. They also have a wonderful family style area for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff at this hotel were very helpful with directions and general conversation. It was a lovely place to spend anytime of day or night.

What a gem! We arrived and found a a dozen roses in our large room. We had mentioned we were spending some time in the big city for our anniversary. How thoughtful. Clean, with pretty gardens and fairly quiet. I can imagine some rooms facing the street could be noisy and we could easily hear people coming and going due to a common entrance where our room was located (129).
Great staff! Helpful , spoke English and went the extra mile to help us. Breakfast was great and fun. You sit at a common table and strike up conservations with people from all over. Get lots of good advice too. Very secure building and the area was great. Felt safe and we walked all over the place. Taxis came promptly. We enjoyed ourselves in this simple, homey and delightful hotel.

Room Tip: Tell them what your needs our. There are rooms with patios, up stairs, ground floor and some are mor...

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Gonzalez. The hotel atmosphere is quiet, clean, comfortable, and relaxing, a welcome refuge from the hustle and noise of Mexico City. The hotel staff were very kind, helpful, and honest. The management speaks fluent English, if needed. Casa Gonzales is a beautiful property, decorated with beautiful artwork and garden plants. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for first time international visitors to Mexico City. The price is incredibly reasonable and worth every dollar. Excellent value.

I recently traveled to Mexico City with a friend. We decided to book two rooms at Casa Gonzalez. They were both absolutely lovely! There was Mexican tile in the bathrooms and around the sink in the bedroom.

I felt very safe - there was a private door to the property that was always locked and then the regular bedroom lock.

The staff was enormously friendly and helpful, the place was very clean, and the breakfast was divine.

If I ever find myself back in Mexico City I will definitely spend a night or two here.

I really have to say i don't know what people are complaining about. I could not imagine a more wonderful place to stay. The location is great, very charming patios that you can relax from a wild day in the city and the staff is simply wonderful.

Lots of restaurants in the area, and perfect spot to explore from. I find the rooms very accommodating...I've made this my home for ten days before and I regret only being here one night this time.

If all places were like this, you'd never want to go home again.

We have stayed at Casa Gonzalez 3 or 4 times and happily it has stayed the same (except for a rise in price naturally). The hotel is two or three buildings formed around a courtyard, with a maximum height of two stories. Flowers, courtyard tables. Our room opened to the courtyard with a little patio and chairs outside. Our room had large windows to open plus a window in the bathroom. The breakfast is not included but it is reasonably priced and a pleasant experience, with omelets etc. made to order. Owner Jorge always responds to our emails and he has even given us recommendations of places to stay in other cities. It is about a 10 minute walk to the metro. The location is central and safe, near the American Embassy.

Room Tip: Each room is different, so state your needs.

We are sorry about the price increase. We do work hard to keep our prices as low as possible, but our dear government does not cooperate. We have had serious increases in most taxes (property taxes have gone up 500%, electricity has gone up about $300%, VAT 2%, Lodging tax etc...).
